Packers WR Jeff Janis strives to earn Aaron Rodgers' trust

On third-and-goal from the 5-yard line, Aaron Rodgers had Jeff Janis open in the left slot. But instead of firing a pass to the rookie seventh-round draft pick, Rodgers waited for Randall Cobb to come free and went his way for the go-ahead touchdown.

With Jordy Nelson still limited while recovering from hip surgery, Janis has spent a good part of the OTAs with the No. 1 offense. That means time to build chemistry with Rodgers and gain the quarterback's trust.

He gets his shot to make the team. Then he can work on displacing Adams as #3. If and when he washes out, it won't be for lack of opportunity.
