The vaunted NYJ have 4 players drafted by them in the Top 32.

It's interesting Clay Matthews isn't on that list and the only defensive player checks in at 99th. In using 9 of 11 1st round picks on D, it's kinda sad that not one of them is in the Top 100. I would think an above average drafter could hit at least 1 out of 11.

I don't put any stock into that list at all.

It was notable that our brinks truck backer didn't make the list but a lowly 5th rounder snuck in there at 99.

There are 4 NYJ in the Top 32 so I'm not really sure why it's all that impressive we have the people on that list in the positions we do.

Ted has drafted how many defensive players in 10 years? Around 40 or so? None of his 11 1st rounders are there and 1 out of the 40 he's drafted are. Okay, I went and counted...42 players. 1 of 42 is pretty terrible.

Offensively he's done pretty well...defensively brutal. Overall... he's slightly above average. Is it any wonder our D is bad and our O good?

profootballfocus system is great for in season grading but outside of that you take it with a huge grain of salt. 😲

I think my favorite part of this list is TJ Lang is rated 6 spots higher than Andrew Luck, 14 higher than AJ Green and 19 higher than Jamaal Charles. Sounds legit.

I think my favorite part of this list is TJ Lang is rated 6 spots higher than Andrew Luck, 14 higher than AJ Green and 19 higher than Jamaal Charles. Sounds legit.

This post started off with a subject line about Packers in the Top 100 and then it turned into a "let's praise Ted and try sticking it to uu by stating Ted Thompson isn't an average drafter". Well, look at it... 42 defensive players drafted over 10 years and one of them barely makes it...at 99th? That's extremely poor defensive drafting and it's exactly what holds this team back year in and year out.

O sells tix and gets people excited ... if our team had a poor O and very good D he would be getting hammered not praised. I'm so glad Aaron fell into his lap...we were charmed in 2005.

You have a solid point about the Packers failing to develop their defensive drafted players. I have to say the only defensive coach doing his job effectively is Joe Whitt. But this topic is about PFF's top 101 players so let's not ruin ANOTHER topic with this because we have numerous others with this subject that could be continued. Thank you for your cooperation.

Regarding the top 101, I was surprised the Packers had as many as they did. I don't think the Packers have many superstar stud players. They seem to have a plethora of really good players instead of great.
