Is Clements just a Yes-Man for Aaron Rodgers, or does he really know wtf he's doing? I guess we'll find out.

There has a trend the past several years to strive for more of a run-first offense. I don't know who is pushing that; It doesn't seem like something a QB like Rodgers would want; It goes against what McCarthy originally did - west coast offense and all; I know a lot of fans like that run-first thing. I don't. I remember about 40 years of that before the last couple of decades when the Packers have been winning with a Pass-First philosophy.

My hope is that the recent trend toward run-first is reversed with Clement calling the plays. That and a slightly better D is the formula for a championship.

Find the defense's primary weakness and exploit it. It is the take what you want philosophy.

I like the "use whatever works, first" philosophy. Then use that to set up other parts of the game.

I would rather see us PASS when they are geared to stop Aaron Rodgers than RUN even though they are set up to stop the pass. Aaron Rodgers is that good, and defenses can be disguised. You run as a change of pace and when you are 3 touchdowns up in the 4th quarter and want to kill clock.

Bottom line - you should play on your strengths and the opponent's weaknesses. It really isn't that complicated.

Yeah we haven't become a run first team at all. What we have done is become a more efficient running team and it makes the offense a lot better. Where Rodgers is most dangerous is when he gets single coverage on his perimiter WRs namely Jordy Nelson. When teams are lined up with 2 deep safeties all the time that just isn't going to work as well. When we can thrash them on the ground with Lacy it forces them to pull a safety up more often which exposes more of those opportunities. While running just to run is dumb it's equally as dumb to pass into a defenses strength in coverage just to pass, it's even dumber when you have the means to take away that coverage in Lacy. It seemed to me that Lacy's running pulled the offense out of a funk a number of times last year. The offense will always run through Rodgers but having a good balance will only make them less vulnerable to good defenses.
