I'm looking forward to some competition on the DL. I hope Pennel can make the jump. 👍

If nose tackle Letroy Guion is suspended to start the season due to his arrest on drug and weapons charges...

I'm high on Pennell. To me Gaston's just a guy, but it would be really nice to have some depth at this position.

Secondary and Fatties on defense are going to be two positions to watch this training camp and pre-season. We will be entertained!

What makes a Nose Tackle great ? What qualities should he have ? Is size the most important thing ? Is strength the most important thing ? Where does good footwork enter the conversation ?

I too hope Pennell steps up, etc., but I do NOT share the opinion that Nose Tackle is such an important position. The less all of these guys see the field, the more I like it. Why? Because that means our offense has gone off and gotten a big lead, forcing the other team to pass more, and having our sharp D Coordinator counter by taking out the NT and going to a better pass rushing combo.

We had a solid winning record with Raji playing like absolute shit; We did just fine with a nobody who couldn't play for the Vikings, but looked way better than Raji; NT is about the least important position on the D. Just about any of us could play it if we bulked up to about 350.

Raji is gonna surprise some people.

Pennell has a chance to overtake Guion. Should get a showcase early in the year while Guion is suspended.
