Ted's dream player is a guy who scores 100 TD's a year and plays for nothing. LOL

As much as uffda knows about running/building a football team, I'm surprised he isn't a GM somewhere. 32 franchises CLEARLY don't know what they're doing.

Well there you have it FANS, COBB SIGNS FOR 4 YR 40MIL!

I Guess old Ted still has a little flex.

On to Bulaga and then Williams!
I was addicted to The Hokey Pokey, but I turned myself around!

Buck...you didn't see that coming, didya? He did what he had to do... couldn't leave cupboard bare. At least you are off the insults considering what happened in this case.
Ted Thompson must not be a good GM to you anymore because good GM's stick to their numbers and don't budge. 🙂 As I said, that would've been fatal in this case. I, for one, am glad Ted Thompson wasn't a good GM in this instance, but I do agree he's not all that great.

Ted Thompson sits on his hands per former GM: "because they’ve had 25 fricking years of great quarterbacks. Of course it works. Try it without a special quarterback."

I don't need a lesson in negotiating. I get it. The point is Ted Thompson isn't as inflexible and rigid as Buck stated he was. Further, Buck praised Ted Thompson as a good GM for not budging on his set number. He clearly came off of 9 mil per which is what buck was praising Ted Thompson for not going above.

All I care is the right thing was done. Randall is staying right where he belongs. A lot of money for sure but he and Jordy were dynamic and now can continue to be.

The important numbers are 4 years, 17 guaranteed. Who knows where our offer for guaranteed money was at? We had to let Cobb talk to other teams to see where they were at.

It seems that the other teams weren't significantly above 17 guaranteed for 4 years.

So we make that our offer, and yes maybe the total number went up to 40.

Ted knows what he is doing.

I have read what you said regarding Cobb from the beginning with the dates and all. Do you really think I don't understand contract negotiations? (rhetorical)

There is a lot of Ted Thompson face saving going on 'round here and I'm enjoying it as I should.

Didn't think he could let him walk and not surprised at all he went out of his comfort zone to keep him.

I'm not a big favorite player guy...but if I had one it would be Randall Cobb.

I think the situation with Randall Cobb went down exactly as the Packers were prepared for and expected it to. They made their offer, the player got to hear what others wanted, they raised their offer and the player signed. If the Player demanded more than they were willing, he would have walked. This has happened numerous times during the Ted Thompson GM era and it doesn't take a brain surgeon to see. Okay, that last part is an assumption predicated on someone of my intelligence has noticed it and I am no brain surgeon, lol.
