Interesting topic to revisit ~8 months later. I know we were instructed to pick just one, however, I am among those who firmly believe (as stated above) the Packers will retain both. Jordy signed I think for five years and $43 million and I could see a four or five year deal for Cobb bringing home around ~$7 million per year.

Randall Cobb embodies the whole "Packer People" thing the administration implies. He's bought into the (brainwashing) Packer Way, he's a good citizen in the community and he's a good team player who puts the team first and equally important is he produces on the football field.

I think he's all that you said about him, but I'd have to think teams would be thinking 10+ per year. Hell, the 'Fins are paying Wallace 12/year.

Cobb is a good Packers WR, other teams will struggle to get the same production out of him.

Check out how cap friendly Nelson's contract is.

I think Cobb makes pretty close to what Jordy got and I hope its the Packers that pay him.

The one wild card that may have some impact on Cobb's contract is the plethora of rookie WRs who excelled this past season and from what I have been reading the 2015 class is very deep in WRs as well. Maybe the college game is preparing WRs better and the transition is becoming easier. I doubt that would sway any GMs into not pursuing Randal but it may help keep interest a little lower.

IMO letting Cobb go would be a HUGE mistake. He and Bulaga would be my top two priorities to resign and I honestly don't expect either of them to hit the market. They will both be resigned before the deadline.

We have to sign Cobb or Franchise him. Boykin has regressed. Adams showed some potential and then was completely out of sync with Rodgers. Jared and Janis are unknowns. Unless we think a FA would want to come to Green Bay to act as a holdover until we know what we have in our Rookies I just don't see how we lose Cobb.

So bloodly close this year we can't afford to take a step back.

I could be way off, but I think we'll be lucky to get him for less than an average of 9 mil/year.

Davante won't be a rookie anymore. He should take a step. Richard Rodgers too. Although he's more Mark Bavaro than Jmike Finley.
