How about say a Crabtree falling to nine this draft.. do you pick him and deal one of the current Packer receivers?

Great question.

I would say YES. But only because I am a firm believer in the best available player concept on draft day.

Would that include Jennings?

There.. took the heat off you and attached a flashing neon target upon my "Ted the Builder" avatar..

In order for it to be even worth thinking about for GB. They would have to receive a 1st. Walker got us pick 37. But what teams really need a WR that would be willing to trade?

MN and Chicago. No way a trade happens in the division.

Maybe another Trade with the Jets, hooking Driver and Favre up for another year.

"PackFanWithTwins" wrote:

That would be sweet for Favre. Driver's an upgrade over Coles or Cotchery. No way they part with Kris Jenkins, but if they did...
Could you imagine Kris and Cullen on the same team at the same time on the same line? With Kampy?

IMO, Driver looked better this year than in '07 (typing that before I looked up the stats).

After looking up the stats I can tell you my intuition wasn't altogether incorrect. While he nabbed more catches and yards in '07, Donald caught more TD passes in '08.

2007: 82 catches, 1,048 yards, 2 TDs
2008: 74 catches, 1,012 yards, 5 TDs

And while overall looking at the last five years shows a decline in yardage output, it's not a precipitous fall and can EASILY be explained by one word (four syllables): Gregorious.

Keep Driver. Keep Driver until he can't play anymore. He'll still probably give us a great chance out there.

(... but goodness ... if Jones/Nelson improve they'll be damn good)
William Henderson didn't have to run people over. His preferred method was levitation.

I think its this has been talked about here before. But i seem to remember Jennings talking about a new contract, saying one of his only stipulations was to make sure that driver stays here.

"Everybody talks about me getting ready to be 34. I don't see my career winding down. Things will happen. Maybe it comes to that, that point where I'm getting old, maybe they want to keep their young receiver group. I love this organization, I love this team. I would never want to play somewhere else. But you never know what will happen."

Whether Jennings senses a change coming or just wants to make sure people know where he stands on the makeup of the receiving corps, he said when the season is over he intends to approach the front office and tell them Driver needs to stay. He said, if he could, he would include a clause in his next contract requiring that Driver stick around at least another year or two.

Someone find this link.

Greg is not real... My God.... What a fricken dream player.

If he made that statement I am blown away. He is one of the few in the NFL that does not need a check up- from the neck up.

Un-real.

1. If you survive what bozz has for you, I'll finish the job myself.

2. We need DD, period. I don't care if TO shows up to play for free, AND we somehow draft Crabtree - DD is Packer People and he should retire in Green Bay.

3. As to the general discussion about the WR position: Are you freakin' kidding me? Haven't any of you heard of the axiom "If it's not broken don't fix it"?

Crazy. They need to get some hirings going or something before y'all start talking about trading Kampy and Woodson, too.

Come on now.. Crabtree isn't going to be there at 9.. and more than likely no one is going anywhere..

Offseason talk more or less.. happens every year.

Now with Kampman, you have his contract ending next here and he is in his prime, so.. šŸ˜‰

You don't replace the best set of cold weather hands on the team. DD has ran the tough routes all his career. He brings it to the table every week and never complains. We need DD on our team...he makes every reciever better on our team including the great Greg Jennings.
