Sorry for no link, but Gregg Williams has signed with the Saints.

So, who do you think we wind up with?

Williams and Nolan threads can be removed from the Packers talk then.

From P.F.T.

"As of yesterday, wed heard rumblings that Williams received an offer from the Packers and was shopping it back to the Saints. If true, the Saints apparently upped the ante."

Hmmmmm?

Winston Moss.

I'll be That Guy and admit that, if this is the case, I'll be sorely disappointed. We go into an offseason where some of the best, most-proven D-coordinators are available and end up simply promoting a guy who helped preside over a precipitous drop in defensive production?

Bummer.

I'll be bummed too. But, i'll also admit that, while I see myself as quite a bit more informed than the average Packer fan, I'm still "just a fan", and i basically know nothing about the organization. I'll be disappointed if Moss is promoted, but I don't know if that is warranted or not. Wait and see, I guess.

I would be disappointed if it's Moss.

I'm hoping that we are not starting to see problems attracting top level talent to come to Green Bay.

Yep done deal.. worry why in spurned our offer? Current staff? Players? Location and cold?

Making a decision when the temperatures here are -23 degrees has got to have some effect on a man.. all other things being equal.

If Moss gets the job, it is clearly a settle type arrangement, I don't see MM in a position right now to just settle. Something tells me it won't be Moss.

But as Bozz mentions.. we are just fans.. without a view behind the office walls at 1265.. I am thinking we should broaden the search out.. MM get a little out of your comfort zone with guys that you don't personally know now..

It will be interesting to say the least.

Yooper...I do not think you have to worry about that. It is just a scenario where it takes two to tango, and for some of the candidates interviewed thus far, we were not their ideal dance partner.

Just because we, as fans, understand and embrace the history and significance of the Packers organization within football....hell, within all of sports for that matter....does not mean that others feel the same way. As a D-coord, I would be very happy to hook up with a team whose offense led the league the year prior...as is the case with the Saints. And you have to ask yourself, "why such a transient, almost mercenary career, for Williams"? As someone who is so sought after, he certainly moves around alot. Does he wear out his welcome rapidly?

We will get our guy, and it will not be Moss. My money says the DB coach from the Eagles. Young, aggressive, and from the pressure oriented Jim Johnson tree. Big question though....does MM, given the critical nature of this pick, go with an unproven commodity?

Moss already said he would except the job as H.C. ... OR EVEN....

Repeat.... OR EVEN ..... D.C. for the Raiders.
