It was $1.96 a gallon here yesterday. Hallelujah!!! In addition to lowering the cost of driving, that lowers the cost of everything that requires transportation - which is just about everything.

Why and How is this happening - lower crude oil prices and subsequent gasoline price drops? Previous cycles of lower fuel costs were attributed to decreased demand due to a slower economy in general. This time, however, the decrease seems to have more to do with increased supply - the Bakken formation in North Dakota, widespread and lower cost fracking in a lot of places, Canadian crude oil discoveries, etc.

Of course, increased sources and other improvements in the past didn't knock down prices anywhere near as much as this. My theory as to what is different now is this: There is a calculated move by whoever - our government/the Insiders who control things etc. - to do harm to the worst of the worst in terms of evil forces in the world - Iran, Russia, and Venezuela at the top of the list. All three of those countries use(d) oil revenues to promote terrorism, Communism, evil in general in the world, Maybe it's just a happy coincidence that our good fortune at the pump is also hurting the flow of oil revenue to that scum, but I prefer to think somebody on the side of good is making it happen intentionally.

Good for us at the pump, not good for some of America's fledgling oil producers who could be run out of business at least temporarily possibly putting a lot of Americans out of work.
I think the Saudis are not only targeting Iran, Russia and Venezuela but also the good old USA.

Unfortunately, the price of diesel, which powers our hauling capacity, is not mirroring the gasoline price fall.
That issue will hold up the cheaper goods theory.

I just paid $2.02 a gallon for gas. That is not too bad considering IL has one of the highest fuel taxes in the nation. (Texas is $.19 per gallon less than IL.) The taxes wouldn't be so bad if the roads in the state were in better shape. For example WI pays $.06 less a gallon and their roads including the tertiary county roads are typically in great shape compare to IL.

Anyway, most of the stations in the region are around $2.29 a gallon. One of the towns has a new Murphys at the WalMart and they are driving the price in that town down. Prior to the station opening up a couple of months ago the town consistently had one of the higher prices in the area. The stations out by the expressway use to be set high to stick it to the travelers and the rest of the town willingly followed along. After the Murphys opened with lower prices everyone else had to follow suit or go out of business. The stations in the town use to be about $.10 higher than the rest of the region and are now $.30-40 less.

$2.34 a gallon here in the U.P. of Michigan.
Diesel dropped .70 a gallon to $3.03, still too high for some mysterious reason.
Traditionally up until about 10 years ago diesel was always cheaper than gasoline.

I am still paying around 2.60 a gallon and thats because of the dumb ass governor putting more taxes on gas, and starting the new year they are talking about adding another 28 cents to the already high rate of 60 cents a gallon. This state really sucks when it comes to taxes.
Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)

$1.76 here in Killeen, Texas today; Diesel is $2.37.

I think the diesel thing is about increased demand going back to when it was cheaper; Also less refinery capacity for it.

Anyway, thank goodness for FRACKING - American innovation to develop it and American Free Enterprise risk taking for financing the development.

Zero2Cool (24m) : sounds like Packers don't get good compensation, Jaire staying
dfosterf (4h) : Nobody coming up with a keep, but at x amount
dfosterf (4h) : Trade, cut or keep
dfosterf (5h) : that from Jaire
dfosterf (5h) : My guess is the Packers floated the concept of a reworked contract via his agent and agent got a f'
Zero2Cool (5h) : Yes, and that is why I think Rob worded it how he did. Rather than say "agent"
dfosterf (5h) : Same laws apply. Agent must present such an offer to Jaire. Cannot accept or reject without presenting it
Zero2Cool (5h) : I'm thinking that is why Rob worded it how he did.
dfosterf (5h) : The Packers can certainly still make the offer to the agent
dfosterf (5h) : Laws of agency and definition of fiduciary responsibility
dfosterf (5h) : Jaire is open to a reduced contract without Jaire's permission
dfosterf (5h) : The agent would arguably violate the law if he were to tell the Packers
Zero2Cool (6h) : That someone ... likely the agent.
Zero2Cool (6h) : So, Jaire has not been offered nor rejected a pay reduction, but someone says he'd decline.
Zero2Cool (6h) : Demovksy says t was direct communication with someone familiar with Jaire’s line of thinking at that moment.
Zero2Cool (6h) : Demovsky just replied to me a bit ago. Jaire hasn't said it.
dfosterf (7h) : Of course, that depends on the definition of "we"
dfosterf (7h) : We have been told that they haven't because he wouldn't accept it. I submit we don't know that
dfosterf (7h) : What is the downside in making a calculated reduced offer to Jaire?
Zero2Cool (23h) : Packers are receiving interest in Jaire Alexander but a trade is not imminent
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Jalen Ramsey wants to be traded. He's never happy is he?
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : two 1sts in 2022 and two 2nd's in 2023 and 2024
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Packers had fortunate last three drafts.
dfosterf (15-Apr) : I may have to move
dfosterf (15-Apr) : My wife just told the ancient Japanese sushi dude not enough rice under his fish
Zero2Cool (14-Apr) : I think a dozen is what I need
dfosterf (14-Apr) : Go fund me for this purpose just might work. A dozen nurses show up at 1265 to provide mental health assistance.
dfosterf (14-Apr) : Maybe send a crew of Angels to the Packers draft room on draft day.
Zero2Cool (14-Apr) : I am the Angel that gets visited.
dfosterf (14-Apr) : Visiting Angels has a pretty good reputation
Zero2Cool (14-Apr) : what
Martha Careful (14-Apr) : WINNING IT, not someone else losing it. The best victory though was re-uniting with his wife
Martha Careful (14-Apr) : The manner in which he won it was just amazing and wonderful. First blowing the lead then getting back, then blowing it. But ultimately
Zero2Cool (12-Apr) : I'm guessing since the thumb was broken, he wasn't feeling it.
dfosterf (10-Apr) : Looking for guidance. Not feeling the thumb.
Mucky Tundra (10-Apr) : If they knew about it or not
Mucky Tundra (10-Apr) : I don't recall that he did which is why I asked.
Zero2Cool (10-Apr) : Guessing they probably knew. Did he have cast or something on?
Mucky Tundra (10-Apr) : Did they know that at the time or was that something the realized afterwards?
Zero2Cool (9-Apr) : Van Ness played most of season with broken thumb
wpr (9-Apr) : yay
Zero2Cool (9-Apr) : Mark Murphy says Steelers likely to protect Packers game. Meaning, no Ireland
Zero2Cool (8-Apr) : Struggling to figure out what text editor options are needed and which are 'nice to have'
Mucky Tundra (8-Apr) : *CHOMP CHOMP CHOMP*
Zero2Cool (2-Apr) : WR who said he'd break Xavier Worthy 40 time...and ran slower than you
Mucky Tundra (2-Apr) : Who?
Zero2Cool (2-Apr) : Texas’ WR Isaiah Bond is scheduled to visit the Bills, Browns, Chiefs, Falcons, Packers and Titans starting next week.
Zero2Cool (2-Apr) : Spotting ball isn't changing, only measuring distance is, Which wasn't the issue.
Zero2Cool (2-Apr) : The spotting of the ball IS the issue. Not the chain gang.
Mucky Tundra (2-Apr) : Will there be a tracker on the ball or something?
