MM was spot on with one part of his quote..."has been" sums it up quite nicely. He wasn't referring to AJ in present tense but past. He's being Jeff Saturday'd.

As for MM's hyperbole, I offer you this on Jarrett Boykin from this season:

"I'm as high on Boykin as anybody in our building," McCarthy said Friday from the NFL Scouting Combine, per Bob McGinn of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. "He had a heck of a year, and I still think he has another jump in him."

"Clearly, Jarrett Boykin has taken the next step," McCarthy said Tuesday, via the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. "I just love the way he plays. He's had an excellent camp.

"He's physical, his toughness, he's relentless. I think he's exceptional at the top of his route. You see his strength and balance to separate from a DB."

----LMAO... Where art thou oh, Jarrett,.. Where art thou? Mike McCarthy wasn't higher on ANYONE in the building than you.

EDIT: I'm sure Mike McCarthy would say Jarrett still has a role... 3 receptions for 23 yards this season. (almost as good as Alshon Jeffery)

Boykin was injured early and while re-habbing, he was overtaken by Ted Thompson's 2014 2nd rnd pick, Davante Adams.

The guy you called a complete mistake draft day.

In fact wasn't it you who said the only guy Ted drafted that would be worth anything was Abby?

Let's take a look at The Packers roster in 2014 if YOU were making the decisions.

1st....Jimmy Graham would be a Packer at the expense of HHCD and next years #1 pick.

Ha Ha......shared time with Hyde the 1st half of the season, now has become the everyday Starter.

Jimmy Graham, missed several games this year already due to injury and with his 16mil a year salary, The Packers would be looking at not only Cobb, but Nelson as well heading to Fa after this season.

Of course with Jimmy Graham on the roster, no way would you have drafted Richard Rodgers in the 3rd round "another Ted Thompson moronic move".

There is no way in hell you would have ever drafted Corey Linsley in the 5th round, playing for Ohio State is reason enough for you to pass on Linsley.

So to recap YOUR 2014 Packers would include Jimmy Graham!!!!!!!

Would not include Adams, Clinton-Dix, R. Rodgers, and Corey Linsley.

Ted Thompson MUST BE FIRED!!!!!!

😆 😆 😆 😆

Sorry to hear you won't be visiting The Packers HOF in the future.

I was pretty confident in my prediction 2 years ago that AJ Hawk would be gone after this year, but now since you have stated, definatley, he is going to be released, and YOU HAVE BEEN SPOT ON in your predicitions, I'm now leaning toward Hawk re-structuring his contract and staying around another year or 2.

Damn, wouldn't that hilarious!!!!!!

At least you will have another couple of years to visit The Packers HOF.

Hawk has given the Packers nine years of good, but not stellar service.
And he's proven uncommonly durable, he's missed only two of 140 games.
Hawk never achieved that level that befitted his draft status. He was not a failure, far from it, but he did not come even close to achieving the pre-draft hype.
A fairly good reliable player, but his abilities were never quite there .

At a certain point, players just can't do it physically anymore and Hawk is there.
There's no room for sentimentality or gratitude for past service when it comes to playing time.
I am chosen by many but taken by no one.

How many #5 overall picks were/are starters for 8+ years?

Fans expectations were never reached by Hawk, The Packers organization, I don't think feel the same way.

I fully expect Hawk to be gone after this year, but now that "mr. obvious" has predicted it, I could see Hawk playing as a back up, at a reduced price, for another 2 years.

His veteran experience and clubhouse leadership would be worth him staying around.

The "bonus" would be the clamoring of some for another 2 years!!!!!

😆 😆 😆

He may have dodged the benching and being cut from the team past seasons but this should be his final year as a starter and probably with the team. Even if there is 1 more year on his contract.

Barrington is way better than him so I for one hope Hawk never see's the field again.

I'm sorry but keeping Hawk or Brad Jones on this team after this season when they lost their starting positions isn't only ludicrous, but laughable. Let's forget for a minute that Ted keeps one of the youngest teams in the league year after year, the backup linebackers are your special teams demons and I don't see either of the aforementioned filling that role. I would guess that one of our top three picks is going to be an inside linebacker because Lattimore seems to be injury prone and little on the less intelligent side. Hoping Barrington is a real keeper but he has given us a small sample of what he can do.
