GREEN BAY, Wis. — The Green Bay Packers structured the three-year contract that Julius Peppers signed in March in a way that would make it easy for them to move without him after only one season.

The veteran pass rusher hopes that's not the case.

When asked on Friday whether he wants to come back to the Packers for another year, Peppers said: "Of course."

At age 34 and in his 13th NFL season, Peppers said he's not at the end of his career yet.

Rob Demovsky  wrote:

I am not sure Peppers is worth $9.5 million for 2015. Probably is. What I am sure of is that the defense is better with him than without him. That and they don't really have someone to step in and take his place and provide the pressure he has in 2015.

But it is a long time until that decision has to be made so who cares.

I thought for sure Peppers was going to be a one year rental. Now I'm not so sure. If he does stick around, they could draft a college 4-3 end and use the first year to transition him him to a 3-4 with no pressure to rush him onto the field.

Wasn't real happy when the Pack signed Peppers and the Bears signed Allen, wanted it the other way around.
Looks like Ted was right, Peppers was the better signing so far.

What's the cap space looking like?
I am chosen by many but taken by no one.

Fun Fact: It's really, really hard to just "replace" genetic talent like Julius Peppers. So while a draft pick in the late 1st round or early second may be able to be "draft and developed", it's really impossible to develop a player to be built like Julius.

dfosterf (25-Jun) : of the folks that run this team. I do not recall Mark Murphy being subject to our vote.
dfosterf (25-Jun) : Ed Policy yay or nay is on the pre-approved ballot that we always approve because we are uninformed and lazy, along with all the rest
dfosterf (25-Jun) : Weird question. Very esoteric. For stockholders. Also lengthy. Sorry. Offseason.
