A roundup of what's happening on the Green Bay Packers beat.

GREEN BAY, Wis. — Mike McCarthy's teams know how to finish out a season.

So with the Packers in prime position heading into the final four games of their schedule, it would seem there's little chance of them faltering down the stretch.

Since McCarthy took over as head coach in 2006, only two teams have better regular-season December/January records than the Packers. Here's a look at those with the best marks in that time frame:

Patriots (34-5)
Chargers (33-6)
Packers (26-11)
Eagles (27-12)
Colts (27-12)
Steelers (25-13)

The Packers couldn't be entering the final month of the season feeling better about themselves than they do now after their 26-21 victory over the Patriots on Sunday.

It is not so much that GB plays well at the end of the season as to who they are playing this year that makes it look pretty good.

Atlanta 5-7 W
@ Buffalo 7-5 W
@ Tampa 2-10 W
Detroit 8-4 W

It is always nice to see Southern teams come into GB in December. I wish they could have more of these kinds of games.

Being a road game against a team over .500, Buffalo may be the biggest challenge.

Does anyone really think they will lose in Tampa?

Playing division opponent Detroit at home should be as well but they are a dome team and it may be a big game for Lacy.

Link to a Rob Demovsky video.

He says that GB has "had no problems in the NFC South this year". I guess he forgot about the game in NO.

And just because Detroit has not won in GB since 1991 that has no bearing on the game this year. I guess he has not heard the phrase " Past performance is not an indicator of future results".

I've been saying this for years. To some degree it seems as if they are not quite ready early in the year, but to some degree I think it comes down to stat whoring. Earlier in the year, they like to pad stats, then when it comes to the stretch run, that's when they start "trying hard."

Let's hope that continues into the playoffs this year. We've got some serious momentum, and this team has been playing well.

I'm already on record in the other thread stateing I believe this Sunday will be another Packer romp.

I'll stick with that.

But......The Packers sure don't want to get caught looking ahead.

I agree The Bills game has a chance to be tougher then some think.

Hard to win on the road, anywhere, in The NFL.

Buffalo has been tough at home and when it comes to playing in 2 weeks, it will prbably be a close game.

Should be a good game. Tough opponent, but not as good as we are.

Of the game, Tampa is the one that scares me the most. We could very well be playing Det for the Division in Week 17 and looking past Tampa.

I just don't like playing Detroit the last game. I think we should be in a playoff position regardless, but they are a bunch of cheapshot artists who I am worried may injure a key player going into the playoffs. I hope we can rest guys without sacrificing a playoff position slot with that game.

beast (47m) : Though I stop following pro bowl years ago
beast (47m) : I thought the pro game was before the Super Bowl?
packerfanoutwest (1h) : ok now for the Pro Bowl Game in Hawaii
TheKanataThrilla (2h) : If I was Philly I would try to end it instead of punting it
Mucky Tundra (2h) : VICTORY! We have (moral) victory!
TheKanataThrilla (2h) : Hey they mentioned that we 3-peted
Mucky Tundra (2h) : seems to me the 49ers should have traded Aiyuk when they had the chance
Mucky Tundra (2h) : if the Eagles get it down to the 1, do they Tush Push or give it to Barkley?
TheKanataThrilla (2h) : 49ers have a money problem if they want to sign their QB
Mucky Tundra (2h) : Wait for real? Didn't he just get an extension two years ago?
Zero2Cool (2h) : 49ers gonna trade Deebo. Interesting
TheKanataThrilla (2h) : Replays always never seem to show the holdings
TheKanataThrilla (3h) : Great throw by Hurts
Mucky Tundra (3h) : Where Carter falls prey to bad off the field influences (to be clear, not saying he'd clip someone though)
Mucky Tundra (3h) : Had Carter not gone to Philly were they already had a lot of old college friends, he ends up in a similar spot to Aaron Hernandez
Mucky Tundra (3h) : I think some of his coaches told scouts to stay away
Mucky Tundra (3h) : the street racing incident+conditioning and motivation problems
beast (3h) : Then Carter was street racing, where the other car crashed and people died... and other teams were scared to pick Carter for some reason
beast (3h) : I think the Saints traded up, giving their next year 1st to the Eagles, and then they sucked and Eagles got the 10th overall pick
packerfanoutwest (3h) : wtf Barkley?
TheKanataThrilla (3h) : Getting Carter and Nolan Smith in the first round in 2023 was pretty darn good
Mucky Tundra (3h) : for some reason i'm thinking of a draft where the Eagles where in the mid 20s and a top player fell all the way to them
TheKanataThrilla (3h) : I think so. I would need to look it up. Think it may have been Carolina's pick.
Mucky Tundra (3h) : i'm not sure who i'm thinking of now
Mucky Tundra (3h) : oh fuck me i messed that up
Zero2Cool (3h) : Jordan Davis was 13th overall
Zero2Cool (3h) : Carter was 9th overall
Zero2Cool (3h) : Eagles had 15th and 10th selections, moved to 13 and 9 to get Davis and Carter back to back
Zero2Cool (3h) : Eagles traded up for Carter, didn't they?
Mucky Tundra (3h) : Obviously he was a huge risk but getting a top 5 talent on the dline in the mid 20s is fortuitous
Mucky Tundra (3h) : Jalen Carter falling into their lap certainly helps
TheKanataThrilla (3h) : And we could only wish to have this type of D
TheKanataThrilla (3h) : It's not like Philly has had low draft picks, but has managed to get themselves a top notch pass rush. We spend so much draft capital of D
packerfanoutwest (3h) : another crap halftime show
TheKanataThrilla (3h) : I think it is over, but then I think of Atlanta and want Philly to go in with the same intensity in the second half
Mucky Tundra (4h) : And with a Pass Rush that might as well be on a milk cartoon and no Jaire
Martha Careful (4h) : I cant help but feel good about how well the Packers D played in Philly during the playoffs
Mucky Tundra (4h) : this game is over
Mucky Tundra (4h) : This might be the kill shot here
Mucky Tundra (4h) : oh that's such a bad penalty for KC after getting the 3rd down stop
TheKanataThrilla (4h) : Philly DL has come to play
TheKanataThrilla (4h) : Ceoper DeJean with the INT scored...bad memories of draft night
Mucky Tundra (4h) : ok scratch that
Mucky Tundra (4h) : Game feels like last years Super Bowl: 49ers started off in control, moved the ball well but didn't have much of a lead to show for it
TheKanataThrilla (4h) : KC jumped and they call it on Eagles. WTF refs
TheKanataThrilla (5h) : If he was offside why did you let him pop the QB?
TheKanataThrilla (5h) : I like that Eagles are controlling time of possession so far.
Mucky Tundra (5h) : If the Eagles are going to win, this is how they do it: jump all over the Chiefs and don't let it turn into a close one
TheKanataThrilla (5h) : Bad throw created that penalty.
TheKanataThrilla (5h) : Amazed Philly got that hit to the helmet call.
