Ease off the name calling here football fans. A different opinion is a different opinion, it doesn't mean you need to stoop so low as to calling them names for said different opinion.

Well I guess this shows your lack of understanding of the NFL. And Qbs. [duh]

Foles was the starting QB all through TC and took the majority of the snaps. Foles was the starting QB for another 9 weeks. Phillie was 5-2 with their only losses at SF and AZ. Just about every QB would be satisfied with that kind of success.

I don't care who the backup QB is, it is hard to be sharp with only 1 week as the starting QB.

I don't think the dominant win over the Eagles should be so easily dismissed for Sanchez playing when the change in QB doesn't seem to have otherwise slowed Philly down. From my perspective, that's what Zero was getting at; and I'd tend to agree with him.

Even though he had been a starter with the Jets it still takes a little bit of time to get up to speed. He may have done a better job than Foles and then again he may not have. We will never know. Nor does it really matter.

To be fair, which is rare... My ONE post appeared in the power rankings thread and was moved here. I had no intention of debating the merits of contender or pretender when I made my post. Z made his proclamation about nobody chirping up now that the Packers were so all of a sudden powerful. I decided to interject after a long period of restraint.

I don't want to be a full time poster here. I should've just tarried my presence.

Ultimately, I, as a fan, am in a similar spot as I was when I was really slamming this team. I want to see if this team can prove it's not a one game blunder. Now, I'm reading that much like the 15-1 season we're the best team in football. Hoping to avoid the same fate when we were the "best" a few seasons ago. Prove it... when it really, really matters. Today, was nice. I don't see a ring ceremony in our future because of the big win Sunday.

Let's just hope this gang wins when it matters not the 13th week of the regular season. The Patriots understand that and their fans, too. I'm not sure our fan base understands it quite like they do.

Encouraged for sure...

You do realize that you have to win in the regular season to make it to the big game right?

(I suppose the NFC South is the exception to that - but we are not in that division.)

Some random thoughts on my virgin packer alliance experience.

I'll start by saying that I did not watch the television broadcast. I have always loved listening to the radio for NFL football. I also have a history with Wayne Larivee going back to the mid eighties on WGN's Bears broadcasts. He is by a mile, the very best NFL radio play by play guy out there.

I will be refraining from using "WE" when talking directly about the Packer's performance.

GB played "Big Boy" football yesterday.

They traded punch for punch with The Patriots, the best that the AFC has to offer.

I am now convinced beyond a shadow of a doubt that The Green Bay Packers are the Best in Show of the NFL.

So gentlemen enjoy the ride, they are peaking at just the right moment. But above all I want to see them steamroll, and pulverize, the Detroit Lions.

The defense was bad, and it was painfully obvious to most knowledgeable NFL fans. The Packers record looked much better on paper than the team actually looked on the field, imo. They were not the best team in football, just like the Cardinals aren't the best team in the NFC right now, or all season.

From my perspective, the 2010 and 2014 teams were and are much better teams than the 15-1 team. As always, it's much more complicated than numbers on paper, even if those numbers are wins and losses. You are correct, weaknesses will be truly exposed in the playoffs, and the 2011 Packers were not ready for the moment. The 2014 Packers might not be either, depending on any number of circumstances, but they have a very realistic chance. In other words, they are serious contenders, which about as much as an NFL fan can reasonably expect in today's NFL. We can hope for more, but it's just not that easy.

Again, you have shown what a great fan you are. I only wish you would "convert" to being a Packer fan!
You have always been a class act. And I respect you!
I wish fans of all NFL teams would act like you do. You can trash talk and show up whether your team wins or loses, and never get nasty.
Enough of the "attaboys"........"Da Bears still suck!"[grin1] 😆

Gentlemen,

For the last 6 years I have been a small part of this forums discourse. I have attempted not to give the impression of being a "Meatball Bears Fan". I believe that I have accomplished this.

Having said that I have come to a decision which to some people, would be akin to abdicating my US citizenship.

Today, on my birthday, November 23, 2014 I willfully renounce my alliance to the NFL franchise of the City of Chicago, and publicly confess to faithfully take up a new alliance to the NFL franchise of the city of Green Bay, that resides in the state of my birth, Wisconsin.

I realistically have about a decade left of time on this orb and I had to make this right before I'm off to see my creator.

I ask for your blessings Packer Nation

Right now is this even a question anymore? The team is sitting in the best position to gain HFA throughout the playoffs in the NFC.
The world needs ditch diggers too Danny!!!

dfosterf (26-Jun) : I think it would be great to have someone like Tom Grossi or Andy Herman on the Board of Directors so he/they could inform us
dfosterf (26-Jun) : Fair enough, WPR. Thing is, I have been a long time advocate to at least have some inkling of the dynamics within the board.
wpr (26-Jun) : 1st world owners/stockholders problems dfosterf.
Martha Careful (25-Jun) : I would have otherwise admirably served
dfosterf (25-Jun) : Also, no more provision for a write-in candidate, so Martha is off the table at least for this year
dfosterf (25-Jun) : You do have to interpret the boring fine print, but all stockholders all see he is on the ballot
dfosterf (25-Jun) : It also says he is subject to another ballot in 2028. I recall nothing of this nature with Murphy
dfosterf (25-Jun) : Ed Policy is on my ballot subject to me penciling him in as a no.
dfosterf (25-Jun) : I thought it used to be we voted for the whatever they called the 45, and then they voted for the seven, and then they voted for Mark Murphy
dfosterf (25-Jun) : Because I was too lazy to change my address, I haven't voted fot years until this year
dfosterf (25-Jun) : of the folks that run this team. I do not recall Mark Murphy being subject to our vote.
dfosterf (25-Jun) : Ed Policy yay or nay is on the pre-approved ballot that we always approve because we are uninformed and lazy, along with all the rest
dfosterf (25-Jun) : Weird question. Very esoteric. For stockholders. Also lengthy. Sorry. Offseason.
Zero2Cool (25-Jun) : Maybe wicked wind chill made it worse?
Mucky Tundra (25-Jun) : And then he signs with Cleveland in the offseason
Mucky Tundra (25-Jun) : @SharpFootball WR Diontae Johnson just admitted he refused to enter a game in 41° weather last year in Baltimore because he felt “ice cold”
Zero2Cool (24-Jun) : Yawn. Rodgers says he is "pretty sure" this be final season.
Zero2Cool (23-Jun) : PFT claims Packers are having extension talks with Zach Tom, Quay Walker.
Mucky Tundra (20-Jun) : GB-Minnesota 2004 Wild Card game popped up on my YouTube page....UGH
beast (20-Jun) : Hmm 🤔 re-signing Walker before Tom? Sounds highly questionable to me.
Mucky Tundra (19-Jun) : One person on Twitter=cannon law
Zero2Cool (19-Jun) : Well, to ONE person on Tweeter
Zero2Cool (19-Jun) : According to Tweeter
Zero2Cool (19-Jun) : Packers are working on extension for LT Walker they hope to have done before camp
dfosterf (18-Jun) : E4B landed at Andrews last night
dfosterf (18-Jun) : 101 in a 60
dfosterf (18-Jun) : FAFO
Zero2Cool (18-Jun) : one year $4m with incentives to make it up to $6m
dfosterf (18-Jun) : Or Lions
