To be honest, I think it's futile to revisit the draft unless the guy you should have picked is the one you think they should have taken when he was available. People will forever talk about passing on Barry Sanders, because many wanted him to be the pick that year. But I don't recall anyone hoping we'd pick up that Crabtree d-bag, who held out that year longer than any other first rounder, since he wanted top 5 money even though he was picked like 10th or something.
At the time, having just switched to a 3-4, experts agreed and so did I, that Raji was exactly what the Packers needed. He was a decent, if not excellent pick...and we not only don't win, but don't get to the Super Bowl without him. (That may be true of this year as well.)
"Who's got it? BIG B.J. RAJI!"
For the record, the last time the Packers' first pick was someone I didn't like was 2004 with Ahamd Caroll. Sherrod turned out to be a whiff, but I am good with the rest:
2005 Rodgers
2006 Hawk
2007 Harrell (injured)
2008 Nelson (2nd round)
2009 Raji
2009 Matthews (2nd first rounder)
2010 Bulaga
2011 Sherrod (bust)
2012 Perry
2013 Clinton-Deix
I would say that's a pretty solid track record
