Another brilliant idea from the Obama administration

The letter, released on Wednesday, states
that it is a violation of federal law for
schools to punish certain races more
than others, even if those punishments
stem from completely neutral rules. For
example, equal numbers of black
students and white students should be
punished for tardiness, even if black
students are more often tardy than white
students.

Basically, what the DOJ is saying, is the only logical explanation for black kids getting into more trouble than white kids: School administrators are racists.

It is the type of policy that only a room full of lawyers could create.. while the thought that equality would be nice in terms of the results, it is the individuals actions that will decide the numbers when the rules are truly innocuous in terms of bias.

Trying to administer the policies to achieve equality in the results is asinine. Care less whom thought this a worthy piece of legislature in terms of party.. it is completely back assward.

Make the rules truly neutral and consistent, fair, and administer them in the same fashion. True equality.

SMFH.

For instance.. I am concerned that Walker in Wisconsin is pushing the open voucher program to the state when the basis of the program is flawed and has been exposed as what it is. A money exchange. A 130 plus million has been paid out to schools that were approved as valid school without being open the minimum 5 years and have not shuttered.

I am not saying that because he is a Republican or Democrat.. I am saying that because it is a bad program built on bad logic. Common logic and sense. Not the smoke and mirror sell jobs the opposing parties sell to the media.

Neither party is in it for the people.. and they get that the majority of the public will continue to argue one party verses the other.. while both sides continue to profit and degrade this country further.

We just need to ensure that the schools, public or private or charter or whatever are meeting the educational needs of our kids, and we are getting what we are paid for.

IronMan, this is the first I've heard of this thing, and even though I have a lot of respect for your views, I'd like to see more documentation. If it is as you describe, it would be the disciplinary version of "outcome based education" - basically living in denial of any true race-based differences, and forcing the end result to reflect equality. Applying that to academics is bad enough, but I can't believe that even the Obama Administration would attempt to apply it to discipline. Are you sure they aren't merely mandating that the standards be equal?

Produce real proof ironman , or you are just trying to create tension.

I can't see why anyone would want to teach school. They have to be politically correct at all times and keep up with the latest political administrations idea's of what is/is not correct. If the teachers are confused, the kids can only be lost. I recently viewed a 1969 episode of Adam 12. In the show an 11 year old kid is shown standing on school grounds as the Officers visit his school. The kid stood maybe 12 ft from the cops , cleaning his nails with a knife. Today a school freaks out if a kid has a spoon for his pudding cup.
Then on the other side of the scale it is said that the schools had to "dumb" down so some could catch up. I get concerned when I hear that America is having to import Doctors and Engineers and Scientist . IMO, this is a result of social culture pressure that does not respect education. It is very different in other countries where they place a high value on education.
I have personally seen where kids that attend private schools do better than kids that attended public school. It all boils down to pier pressure. The shame is that I've seen kid's from good families end up as 26 year old waiters and kitchen workers. Not that they did not have the aptitude , but they simply had no ambition beyond the next joint to smoke. 20 yrs down the road they will still be waiting tables and working in the kitchen. America has an education problem , because their is a culture problem.

This letter was sent directly from the DOJ and can be read in its entirety if you click the link I provided. I'm not going to spoon feed this to you guys.

I'm not the one who's trying to "create" tension. That would be Mr Obama and his racist attorney general.

Liberals don't want equal opportunity. They want equal results.

The real problem is something nobody wants to talk about. 70 percent of black kids grow up with no father. It should be no surprise that kids who grow up with no father are going to have disciplinary issues. The question is, why do so many black men choose to not take care of their kids?
