Green Bay — After Sunday, Davante Adams is likely to see increased action opposite Jordy Nelson in the Green Bay Packers' offense. The second-round pick caught five passes for 50 yards, connections at critical moments for Green Bay in its 31-24 win over the New York Jets.

If Sherrod can't do his job at RT and Bulaga can't return , TE help on that side may be necessary. Adams may slip in for a few plays, but I'd like to see Janis myself. Also with poor protection, Kuhn may play more, signaling Defences to a greater % that a pass play is coming.

I would prefer Bulaga at 100% and back at RT. This could free a TE from pass protection duty that Sherrod isn't doing and allow for more short patterns in the middle. Rodgers now has another weapon to use and defences must now defend one more thing, pulling a linebacker away from pass rushing to defend the TE.

The Offense is not however the area of most critical need though, it is the Defence. More to the point, the Nose Tackle and the inside linebackers are the weak spots and other teams see it as well. Opponents tend to attack weak areas to gain the advantage. If the Nose Tackle is the weak spot, it will be attacked, and it has been so. I've not seen or heard where attempts are being made to go get a Nose Tackle. The one they have now is not getting the job done. [duh]

I think our collective preference toward Janis is a little unwarranted at the moment. I think he'll see the field once he grows more into the NFL game. A lot of folks are tantalized by his measureables and the pair of plays he made in preseason -- for good reason. But Adams seems to clearly be ahead in term's of the offense.

There's a reason he was taken in the 2nd round and not the 7th.

It's also evident from the stat sheet that the Packers were much improved against the run against New York. The 37-yard option play to Kerley is a big part of the 146-yard total for New York (Geno added 26 yards). Outside of that you have Chris Ivory and Chris Johnson combine for 64 yards on 25 carries (2.56 YPC). Bilal Powell had 16 yards on four carries.

So I think it's a bit overstated the poor nose tackle play has meant production for opponents.
