I agree with Michael here, and have stated so in other threads. As good as Nelson and Cobb (and others) may be, they struggle to truly separate pretty often. It just puts more pressure on Aaron Rodgers. Considering he almost always has an average offensive line at BEST, it makes his job incredibly difficult. The guy needs more help. He's not good enough to overcome elite teams without more help, from his receivers, offensive line, and entire defense.

If we're picking in the twenties every year and people won't trade down when these elite receivers come around, just how in the hell do we acquire one?

Greg Jennings specialized in getting separation like that. Finley too to some degree, due to matchups.
