Feb 2011- Packers win the SuperBowl after starting the season 3-3.

Sept 2011- Packers beat Saints to start their way on a glorious 15-1 season. Won their first 13 in a row!

Jan 2012- Packers lose in their first playoff game.

Our last Super Bowl season did not start very well. Ended great!

Our last season to start great did not end well.

Relax. We lost a game most people expected us to lose. Worse than expected. But at least we didn't lose to the Bills! Bears suck!!!!

I would like to add that I have generally enjoyed visiting these forums over the years, but lately things have seemed to get very nasty. It seems there are those who simply cannot be happy unless the Packers are the best team in the league. Anything short of a trip to the superbowl and we're miserable (one and done, blah blah). Guess what: the Packers are probably not the best team in the league this year, and that doesn't mean that heads should roll. We have been spoiled as Packers fans with years of success that some teams' fan bases can only dream of. No, our team is not perfect, but basing our happiness in life on how the Packers do is no way to live. The amount of anger and vitriol shown by some over this game makes me think that you are taking this form of entertainment waaaay too seriously.

So, please everyone, learn to *enjoy* your team, even if they don't win every game. We are blessed to be able to watch players like Aaron and company, and if you're just perpetually pissed, you'll miss all the joy to be had.

If we were the Jacksonville Jaguars, I'd be happy for the team just showing up =)

People are passionate about this team and expect the team to be the best. You want people to lower expectations?

The passion you hear are the realities that this team is NOT the best and as optimistic as it is to say "hey, it's just one game, etc"
Unless the 49ers(did you see them play yesterday?) and the Seahawks, somehow fall off the face of the Earth, the Packers will not see the Superbowl until some big improvements are made.

Being able to say that doesn't mean we aren't fans. There are realist kinds of fans, and rose colored fans. There's many types.

I get raked over the coals 3/4 of the time, because I call them out for shitting themselves, even when they win. If they lose and they still play with a little heart and "try hard," I still praise them.

These issues have been going on for more than just one game.

Do I think this team will bounce back and make the playoffs? Of course I do, that's their pattern. But does that mean I have to accept when they shit themselves? Not at all.

I hope the ups and downs of our favorite sports team does not adversely effect anyone's personal life. That's just silly. Even Vince acknowledged there were more important things.

Just disappointed in my team, not with life generally. lol

Bumpy AND Cal both made some great points!

I agree with BOTH views.
I do get upset when "MY" team loses. And I think this kind of loss upsets me the most. The fact that they had ALL off season to get ready for this game, and then to lay a BIG egg on the field.
If they had played well, and looked half decent, I wouldn't be as worked up. But they looked like they were caught off guard. That is what I think upsets most of us. It wasn't as if they lost because of a fake ref's call. They lost because they didn't show up.

But in the end, it IS only a game. And some DO take it too personally. And being as I was here for the 1970' and 1980's, it's a little easier to accept one really bad game, as I saw dozens of bad games back then. Yet here I am, still a huge PACKER fan.

We HAVE been spoiled, for sure. Favre and then Rodgers. Most NFL fans only WISH they had these 2 guys as their teams QB's over the last 23 or so years.

Now, if they lay an egg at home against the Jets........wow......that would be a HUGE s**t storm!!!LOL!

No team plays full out for 60 minutes like you keep whining about otherwise the best teams would average way more than 30 points a game and would allow way less than 20. Football is about adjusting and reacting as much as it is about going out and kicking ass. The other team has good coaches and players too. Look at our game, we came out flat made a ton of mistakes against a well coached and super talented Seattle team in their own house and the score was 10-17 at Halftime. You keep acting like watching a Packers game should be like playing Madden on rookie mode but that's not how it works for any team.

What upsets me is that we've seen this movie before. The Favre/Sherminator Packers pissed away many years and we are watching it again. The Packers can roll the weak sisters of hte league, but when it comes down to going toe to toe with a physical bully, they buckle just about every time.

"True-dat" Steve.
But if you only "play" half a game, you aren't going to win many games.

I think most are just upset, and lashing out. Some do take it to far, for sure.
Life goes on, whether the Packers win or lose.
It just makes it nicer when they win.

Mucky Tundra (30-Jan) : Now that's a thought, maybe they're looking at the college ranks? Maybe not head coaches but DC/assistant DCs with league experience?
beast (30-Jan) : College Coaches wouldn't want that publicly, as it would hurt recruiting and they might not get the job.
beast (30-Jan) : I thought they were supposed to publicly announce them, at least the NFL ones. Hafley was from college, so I believe different rules.
Mucky Tundra (30-Jan) : Who knows who they're interviewing? I mean, nobody knew about Hafley and then out of nowhere he was hired
beast (30-Jan) : I wonder what's taking so long with hiring a DL coach, 2 of the 3 known to interview have already been hired elsewhere.
Zero2Cool (27-Jan) : Packers coach Matt LaFleur hires Luke Getsy as senior assistant, extends Rich Bisaccia's deal

Mucky Tundra (24-Jan) : Rude!
beast (24-Jan) : Martha? 😋
Zero2Cool (24-Jan) : Raiders hired someone from the elderly home.
dfosterf (24-Jan) : I'm going with a combination of the two.
beast (24-Jan) : Either the Cowboys have no idea what they're doing, or they're targeting their former OC, currently the Eagles OC
Zero2Cool (23-Jan) : Fake news. Cowboys say no
Zero2Cool (23-Jan) : Mystery candidate in the Cowboys head coaching search believed to be Packers ST Coordinator Rich Bisaccia.
beast (23-Jan) : Also why do both NYC teams have absolutely horrible OL for over a decade?
beast (23-Jan) : I wonder why the Jets always hire defensive coaches to be head coach
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Still HC positions available out there. I wonder if Hafley pops up for one
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Trent Baalke is out as the Jaguars GM.
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Jeff Hafley would have been a better choice, fortunately they don't know that. Someone will figure that out next off season
