Pickett has played 13 years. Guion just 6. Thats one obvious major difference.

Last year's run D started well and then faded. At the end of the year, it was the big weakness. Why, oh why, would we want the same players back? Move on. It might be worse, but not likely. Jolly's old and hurt. Pickett is ancient. I respect what they have provided us, but it's a game of replacement. Young and cheap is better than old and broken.

Pickett was a starter. Guion is a career journeyman.

Nobody is saying Guion is some great player or anything but Pickett pretty much sucked last year. Why does Raji being gone make you want to bring back a player that sucked?

If we're going to ignore actual performance, let's bring back Nitschke. Huge upgrade over Hawk! Pair him with Robinson. Then we have some of the best to ever play!

Don't forget. In a league that is always looking for 'Big guys', Pickett and Jolly are sitting at home. Nobody wants them.

Time to move on.

There are plenty of teams that could use a good NT that can move and 0 teams that were interested in Pickett even on 90 man rosters, he has no off field concerns and is by all accounts a great teammate so maybe that tells you how useful he is at this point.

I respect the everliving shit out of Pickett, but it was and is time to move on. There is a new group of guys here with something to prove.
