You see it? Where? The year we did win it we had guys talking about SB...

And...YOTTO wasn't the only one yapping...there was this feeling this commitment that we were going to go get it. I felt it. Don't know about you. I don't feel it this year. I feel this is a transition year. I don't feel like the team feels like it really is going to win it this year. We had some older guys who careers were running out that really wanted one. We got one for them. Who we winning one for this year? Peppers is the only guy I can see who hasn't had one who is near the end. Is Julius the kind of guy who strikes you as it burns in him to be a world champion? It did in Woodson and Driver...

I don't really know how this could be a transition year honestly, compared to last year.. We weren't prepared at the Backup QB position, nor were we at Safety. Bulaga was lost for the whole year, and now he's back. We're better prepared at these positions this year. Imo the only position I'm concerned with is TE, but we will find that identity this season.

It's all the matter of staying healthy that decides the fate of this team, like every year, for every team. It's only preseason week 2, it's too early to judge until the regular season.

We barely sign any FAs, we only hold on to our own drafted players, our draft sucks year in year out, but somehow we're always among the top 5 teams in the League, barring injuries. It's a miracle.

This draft is a bust or succes on, mainly, subjective opinions as of now.

I don't feel like Perry was drafted in the wrong scheme. Not as an elephant who doesn't have to drop into coverage all too often. No more than a guy like Peppers, Ware of Miller, at least.

And I certainly wouldn't label him a bust just yet. I felt like he showed something before getting injured. The rotation of Matthews, Peppers and Perry is going to be one of the better in the league this year.

Hayward ended up 3rd for rookie of the year voting and held QBs to a 31.1 rating when throwing his way. That's rather impressive. Then he misses his second season and is suddenly labeled an often injured reserve. Seems rather harsh.

Daniels had 6.5 sacks last year. As a 3-4 DE. While starting just one game. He's playing a similar role to an UT in a 4-3, at about the same size. Had one of those guys gotten 6.5 sacks, we'd be franchise tagging him and sending him to the Browns for a 2nd rounder.

I agree with you on the rest, but coupling these players with the UDFAs who worked out quite well, you're coming off as extremely harsh in my opinion.

Here's a fun and informative link for those who think that plucking UDFA's is equal to hitting on 1st rounders... You'll notice just how many guys are in the HOF who weren't taken in Round 1. The majority of your star players, whether HOF worthy, or not, are coming from up high in the draft. It does matter...a lot.

There were far more Pro Bowl players in the first half of the first round in all years but one.

Again, it doesn't say all that much, but the talent decline from round 1 to 2 is already pretty big, let alone hitting on UDFAs or late rounders.

We've been spoiled by TT's drafting in the later rounds and it shows in threads like this.
