We barely sign any FAs, we only hold on to our own drafted players, our draft sucks year in year out, but somehow we're always among the top 5 teams in the League, barring injuries. It's a miracle.
This draft is a bust or succes on, mainly, subjective opinions as of now.
I don't feel like Perry was drafted in the wrong scheme. Not as an elephant who doesn't have to drop into coverage all too often. No more than a guy like Peppers, Ware of Miller, at least.
And I certainly wouldn't label him a bust just yet. I felt like he showed something before getting injured. The rotation of Matthews, Peppers and Perry is going to be one of the better in the league this year.
Hayward ended up 3rd for rookie of the year voting and held QBs to a 31.1 rating when throwing his way. That's rather impressive. Then he misses his second season and is suddenly labeled an often injured reserve. Seems rather harsh.
Daniels had 6.5 sacks last year. As a 3-4 DE. While starting just one game. He's playing a similar role to an UT in a 4-3, at about the same size. Had one of those guys gotten 6.5 sacks, we'd be franchise tagging him and sending him to the Browns for a 2nd rounder.
I agree with you on the rest, but coupling these players with the UDFAs who worked out quite well, you're coming off as extremely harsh in my opinion.
