I still can't wrap my head around the fact that apparently every young receiver we bring in is better than Jarrett Boykin! I mean all the guy does is constantly prove his value to the team; we've all seen it. And yet you really think he wouldn't have made the team had Abbrederis remained healthy?!? I guess I shouldn't be surprised though... you didn't seem to think he'd make the roster in January before we added more receivers from the draft either

I can't imagine a single scenario in which Boykin doesn't take the nr. 3 receiver role this year, apart from him shooting Rodgers or something, much less that he doesn't make the team.

It's pretty much this way every year, though. We bring in some shiny late rounders and UDFAs in at WR and they're the next Donald Driver.

For a year, at least, 'till the new crop comes in.

I mean, Tori Gurley, Shaky Smithson, Chastin West, Diondre Borel, Miles White...

Boykin is the perfect example, really. He was that shiny new UDFA just two years ago.

I'm sure he will start the season as the number 3 but it would not surprise me if Adams or Janis or both of them pass him up at some point during the season. It also wouldn't surprise me if he took a step up and solidified his position but I doubt he will challenge for the #1 or #2 spot any time soon if we do resign Cobb.

The #3 WR in our offense is going to put up decent numbers simply because of the way Rodgers spreads the ball around. I think you could plug Boykin, Adams, Janis, and probably 40 or 50 or so other #3 or #4 WRs from around the league and they would put up similar numbers.

When I saw him turn the corner on the highlights, I said to myself damn that white dude can run. It's the truth. Nothing wrong with the truth.

Janis has received some tough love the past two days when he has run incorrect routes in practice. He needs to be more reliable out there to earn his QB's trust. It's a work in process, but with his speed, it would be foolish to expose him to the PS.

In all fairness to those other guys they did not have the chance that Boykin did to prove themselves.
