That's Rob Davis's job. This team may shit themselves when it comes to injuries, accountability, tempo, time of possession and stat whoring, but they've been exemplary when it comes to turning around percieved "malcontents."
If there's a rash of injuries or shit suckage at the TE position, they could very well keep a spot for Lyerla. But if these guys show a little something (and I'm optimistic,) they might just shut him down for a year and get him in the program and up to speed for next year. There's alot of variables to be worked out yet.
For all we know this run on ACLs could hit the TE position.
There is that one "IR Designated to Return" option as well. Dunno if they'd wanna use it this early, on a guy who's unproven, unless the TE position was decimated, though.
