I can't say if I'd consider it a failure or not. I don't view a season that way, meaning you have to factor in coaching, health, luck, and execution, all factors we couldn't assess (yet). Raji demonstrated he's capable of playing at a high level, but if he fails this year, with the position change, that's on him. It's just one example of how it's difficult to attribute all success/failures at the feet of one coach or GM. Not to say you can't blame them for trends over time, I'm just saying why I couldn't say if I'd consider it ted's failure or not.

Dammit, I regressed and actually read one of your posts. I think it was just because it was so short I could read it while scrolling. My bad.

He is squandering a once in a lifetime QB opportunity. He keeps jacking around with draft picks and not filling holes. We have been extraordinarily lucky with the QB position. To credit Ted Thompson with that is somewhat of a joke, as NO ONE knows what happens there... witness what the fool did last year regarding back-ups...

Ted is winging it. I think Mike McCarthy deservers far more credit than given. Ted seems mentally slow, to a scary degree. No one there to challenge it. We are asleep at the switch, by design. Being from Wisconsin can be embarrassing.

I think this should be the defining year for both Thompson and McCarthy.
If the Packers only go 1 and done or don't even make the playoffs, neither should be extended.
They will have proven to me that they are incapable of moving this team forward despite having the best QB in the game.
The Rodgers window is closing.
Only 1 Lombardi during Rodgers career would be a crime.

To answer the question of the topic. Yes, Ted Thompson should be extended. The evidence is all in favor of such a move. Any true Packers fan would understand.

Whenever you say things that put a fan's sincerity into question it puts your own sincerity into question as far as I am concerned. Someone doesn't agree with what you say so you claim to be a better fan than they are. Not very classy IMO.

I certainly include Brett Favre's recent statement in that as well. He is saying a true fan would forgive and forget but how does he know how his actions affect other people. Some people are far more sensitive to those sorts of things. I don't blame them for holding a grudge. I don't agree with them but I understand where they are coming from and it doesn't make them false fans.

Just think what this team is minus Aaron Rodgers when you hail TT's generally good performance. His generally good performance is actually pretty substandard minus him. Oh, I know... RC18, Finley and Clay were also out... 2-5-1. If not for the miracle at Dallas 1-6-1. Heck, we barely beat dreadful Atlanta in our yard...but we almost got the brutal Steelers so I suppose that evens one of them.

I don't think it's a stretch to believe they could have also won the Chicago and NY games if he were QBing too. It's not like Flynn is a juggernaut either this is a guy that nobody else wanted and lost a starting chance to Terrell Pryor and a back up job to Matt freakin' McGloin. The point is this team with at least semi-competent QB play isn't really as terrible as you are trying to say. It's just bad with awful QB play as any team would be.

Before you go there, I'm not excusing Ted for not having a competent back up QB last year I'm just pointing out that if we have one we aren't that bad.

😆 😆 😆 😆 😆 😆 😆

Only 85 pages to go!!!!

(100 was my prediction by the time Ted's contract runs out, or when the inevitable happens and his contract is extended!!!

This is as much fun as predicting the Packers record every year.

I have enjoyed reading the opinions of the members who have posted in rebuttal, it is a lot easier surfing through this thread since I put the main combatant on ignore.

The simple question to ask is, who is available that would do a better job then Ted Thompson ????

I am betting Ted will decide to leave at the end of this contract, and unlike when Wolf left, the Upper management along with Ted will have an exit plan in place so The Packers will continue to compete for The Lombardi every year.

Zero2Cool (32m) : Fake news. Cowboys say no
Zero2Cool (1h) : Mystery candidate in the Cowboys head coaching search believed to be Packers ST Coordinator Rich Bisaccia.
beast (15h) : Also why do both NYC teams have absolutely horrible OL for over a decade?
beast (15h) : I wonder why the Jets always hire defensive coaches to be head coach
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Still HC positions available out there. I wonder if Hafley pops up for one
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Trent Baalke is out as the Jaguars GM.
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Jeff Hafley would have been a better choice, fortunately they don't know that. Someone will figure that out next off season
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Aaron Glenn Planning To Take Jets HC Job
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Martha- C'est mon boulot! 😁
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Thank you
wpr (22-Jan) : Z, glad you are feeling better.
wpr (22-Jan) : My son and D-I-L work for UM. It's a way to pick on them.
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Thank you. I rarely get sick, and even more rarely sick to the point I can't work.
wpr (22-Jan) : Beast- back to yesterday, I CAN say OSU your have been Michigan IF the odds of making the playoffs were more urgent.
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Glad to hear you are feeling a bit better.
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : I've been near death ill last several days, finally feel less dead and site issues.
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : It is a big deal. This host is having issues. It's frustrating.
Martha Careful (22-Jan) : just kidding...it was down
Martha Careful (22-Jan) : you were blocked yesterday, due to a a recalcitrant demeanor yesterday in the penalty box for a recalcitrant demeanor
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Was that site shutdown on your end or mine? No big deal, just curious
beast (21-Jan) : That way teams like Indiana and SMU don't make the conference championships by simply avoiding all the other good teams in their own confere
beast (21-Jan) : Also, with these "Super Conferences" instead of a single conference champion, have 4 teams make a Conference playoffs.
beast (21-Jan) : Also in college football, is a bye week a good or bad thing?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : The tournament format was fine. Seeding could use some work.
beast (21-Jan) : You can't assume Ohio State would of won the Michigan game...
beast (21-Jan) : Rankings were 1) Oregon 2) Georgia 3) Texas 4) Penn State 5) Notre Dame 6) Ohio State, none of the rest mattered
wpr (21-Jan) : Texas, ND and OSU would have been fighting for the final 2 slots.
wpr (21-Jan) : Oregon and Georgia were locks. Without the luxury of extra playoff berths, Ohios St would have been more focused on Michigan game.
wpr (21-Jan) : Zero, no. If there were only 4 teams Ohio State would have been one of them. Boise St and ASU would not have been selected.
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : So that was 7 vs 8, that means in BCS they never would made it?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : A great game. Give ND credit for coming back, although I am please with the outcome.
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : FG to make it academic
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : and there's the dagger
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ooooo 8 point game with 4 minutes to go!
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ooooooooohhhhhh he missed!
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Ooooo that completion makes things VERY interesting
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Game not over yet
beast (21-Jan) : Oh yeah, Georgia starting quarterback season ending elbow injury
beast (21-Jan) : Sadly something happened to Georgia... they should be playing in this game against Ohio State
beast (21-Jan) : I thought Ohio State and Texas were both better than Notre Dame & Penn State
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Notre Lame getting rolled
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : Ohio State just got punched in the gut. Lets see how they respond
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Notre Lame vs the Luckeyes, bleh
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Oh snap!!!
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : Even Stevie Wonder can see that.
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : Nah, you see Lions OC leaving to be HC of Bears is directly related to Packers.
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ohhhhhhh Zero is in TROUBLE
packerfanoutwest (21-Jan) : Zero, per your orders, check Bearshome, not packershome
Zero2Cool (20-Jan) : Then he'll land with another team and flourish.
Zero2Cool (20-Jan) : Ben going to Bears. He'll be out in 3 years.
