Packers receiver Randall Cobb missed 10 games with a broken leg, but a healthy Cobb could be in for a very big year in 2014. In fact, Vic Ketchman of Packers.com writes that the expectations are so high that Cobb could lead the league in receptions this season. That seems like an awfully optimistic expectation,...

Michael David Smith  wrote:

First, I'm going to say...YES...IF

Secondly, the Packers better sign him to an extension before this happens.

Thirdly, he'll hit 100 or more IF they sign him to the extension before the season is more than half over.

The last thing the Packers want to do is make a guy a focal point of their offense by feeding him 100 balls jacking up the price so high that they aren't going to pay him after the season.

I don't think any WR has ever had 100 catches with Rodgers as QB. I think the 85 by Jordy last year has been the most anyone has caught recently. With Lacy and Starks a threat in the backfield and a hopefully healthy/improved OL I think the passing offense will be too efficient next year for anyone to reach 100 grabs.

I could forsee this - again if healthy and the other 3 (besides jordy) dont catch as many

I don't see it happening at all. The ball gets spread out way to much, if anyone would catch 100 balls it would be Jordy because Rodgers would be forcing him the ball.
Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)

He COULD do it. But I don't think we'll need him to.

Remember Mike wants to make DuJuan our "Sproles" type guy too, so that's gonna be a lotta screens and swing passes in the flat to him.

We're not in a position to need someone to take over and be that kind of play maker for us. I bet we even end up with a glut of TEs who can get it done.

Ted instructs Mike not to call Randall's number to keep his cost down. He resigns for a bargain price and leads the league in yards and receptions in 2015 and 2016 including Super Bowl records and mvp in 2015 and league MVP in 2016.

At least that is what my vision quest said.

Cobb was on pace last year for his 100. He's the most talented pass catcher we have all around even though I wouldn't and don't consider him a true #1 WR. It is pretty amazing that a non #1 type WR could catch 100 balls but he could. I guess it shouldn't be that shocking... Larry Centers a FULLBACK caught 200 balls in consecutive years (99 and then 101) in the mid 90's for Arizona.

Figurng QB1 is healthy all year, he will throw for 4500+ yds,

Cobb has a very good chance at 1000 of those, along with Jordy.

The big surprise will be Jarret Boykin who will lead the team in yardage.

As teams try to double Cobb and Nelson,

Boykin will benefit and all 3 will top the 1000 yd mark.
