Tight end Colt Lyerla is on the field and practicing with the Packers, ending a period away from the field that began when he was kicked off the Oregon football team last year.

Lyerla’s departure from the team, subsequent arrest on drug charges and assorted other issues from his college days led to Lyerla going undrafted despite the kind of talent that is usually off the board in the first two days. The Packers decided to bring Lyerla on board in hopes that he’s able to find the right track and the tight end says he thinks that can happen.

Figured I'd stash this video in here since there are quite a few Lyerla threads going on and I don't want to add to the pile. Colt had his first media scrum and I think he handled the questions very well. Two weeks in and he seems to be taking his second chance very seriously.

My favorite part of the interview was when someone asked him if he can talk about the comparisons being made to him being like Jimmy Graham. I think his past situations paired with his departure from Oregon and not being drafted has really humbled him.

I'm on the Colt Lyerla bandwagon!

He brought all this bullshit and scrutiny upon himself.

He can also make it go away. So far, so good.

From what I've read Chip Kelly and Kyle Long were his support system at Oregon and with those two gone he started making bad decisions. Hopefully he's learned from his mistakes because if he makes the right choices he will have the support system in GB.
Under Construction!
