I think the world of Rodgers ability, and Cobb, Jordy, and Boykin are still an above average #1-3 on the receiver depth chart. But with Finley probably being done (or never the same) I don't see how the Packers don't draft another receiver project somewhere in the 2nd-4th rounds. I'll be highly surprised if they don't, and a little disappointed. As others have said Thompson puts a lot of value in the receiver position and has pretty consistently hit big on his picks.

Remember when Randall Cobb said he's paid attention to Greg Jennings and James Jones after he signed his contract? Having both Jennings and Jones released is going to be a selling point for the Packers. They won't use it as such, but like Cobb said, he noticed what happened.

I'm sure someone will give James another shot.
I guess this had become a young man's game.

Packets are currently loaded at the wr position.

Hopefully when James decides to hang up the cleats, he can come back and retire as a Packe r!

I'd give him a chance with the team. He knows the offense, he knows Rodgers, and Cobb and Nelson. If the younger players on the team today, are good enough to beat him out for the 3rd, 4th, 5th WR spot on the team, we can release him and not be out much of anything. if he still has enough to win the spot, than the team is better than it would have been.

The world needs ditch diggers too Danny!!!
