Would be a solid move, IMO. Not the Woodson/Pickett-quality pickup the team needs a couple of, but a bigger-than-typical-TT free agency move.

Not the most needed kind of pickup (see defense, OL), but it would remove a need to spend any draft choice at all on a TE.

Get one in the draft. I don't understand any Quarless passionate love. I'd rather have Finley, if his neck isn't still broke.

I wouldn't mind signing Daniels either, if my choice is Daniels vs. Quarless.

Pettigrew has a very bad history of dropping passes ever since his ankle injury, right?

I think Owen Daniels would be a good signing for the Packers. They have clearly expressed no interest in bringing back Finley (that's fine) and Owen Daniels is very sure-handed and is a red zone threat.

He'd be a good locker room presence and veteran presence for our young tight ends as well.

Neither are going to be the split out threat Finley was and with Lacy, I would rather gain more in pass blocking that Pettigrew can offer with his size. And with Rodgers throwing to him, who knows what can become of his hands. I think he was underutilized by Detroit and Stafford doesn't throw as catchable ball as AR.
