The Packers have a pair of free agent tight ends in Jermichael Finley and Andrew Quarless who have yet to sign contracts for next season, but the team isn't waiting for them to make up their minds to explore other options. Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports that Owen Daniels is visiting with...

Quarless is the solution. Ted better get him signed. Finley can go wherever. As for Daniels, he is still just 30. If he is not permanently damaged from his injury, and if he is cheap enough, he would be a good addition.

The biggest play of Quarless' career was a TD catch against Minnesota in 2010, which he actually dropped. Brad Childress just wasn't quick enough to challenge the play. He does have talent, but I wouldn’t put all my eggs into one basket.

Plus, it’d be nice to see the Packers get back to two tight end sets. A veteran plus an emerging Quarless (or draft pick) could open up that part of the playbook.

Daniels is a sure-handed tight end. Not the mismatch Finley is, but hey, it's a good signing if we make it happen.

You all know how ted and Mike love their TE's!!!!
Have you all forgot about Brandon Bostic?

Then there is Jake Stoneburner.

Silly not to think these guys aren't going to get better their 2nd year.

Plenty of room for Owen Daniel if Quarless goes elsewhere. Even if Ted resigns Quarless it would be good to bring Daniels in.

Not even counting on Finley, no way The Packers let him come back after the injury.

Bostic, Stoneburner, Quarless, the ever present Ryan Taylor and Daniel wouldn't be a bad lineup at TE.

You've got Taylor, Bostic and Stoneburner contributing on Special teams while developeing another year with Quarless and Daniel as a pretty good pair of starting TE's.

Sure-handed and could definitely help the red zone offense.

I want Quarless back, his blocking is very good and he has improved in receiving.

If we were going to bring in a FA at TE, I would look at Pettigrew.
The world needs ditch diggers too Danny!!!

I think Owen Daniels would be a good signing for the Packers. They have clearly expressed no interest in bringing back Finley (that's fine) and Owen Daniels is very sure-handed and is a red zone threat.

He'd be a good locker room presence and veteran presence for our young tight ends as well.
