It's well known I have a generally low opinion of Ted Thompson, but in the case of Sherrod and the other first round failures, I would say LUCK had a lot to do with it, not to mention the fact that the jury is still out on D. Jones and maybe Sherrod. As for the second round success, I give him credit there, Lacy especially, but also he had the same kind of LUCK he had when Rodgers fell to him.
I'd rather have an athletic talented first rounder - maybe Mosely - than an extra 2nd, 3rd, and 7th pick. We need quality more than quantity.
