I don't know whether or not it's blatant sarcasm, but I'm in agreement that Hawk was supposed to be a superstar. At the same time, he hasn't actually been a liability to the defense. His play hay been adequate. Good enough? Of course not.

Hawk isn't the problem for the defense, or even the linebackers.

As for James Jones. I think after the report of how deep of a draft this is, he's gone.

Jones, on the other hand, was not expected to be a superstar. He has not been a disappointment. He just ain't worth the slightly less than Greg Jennings money it will probably take to sign him.

It's partly because of the position he plays too - shorter period of peak performance. I can foresee us having a similar discussion about Eddie Lacy in a few years - all out superstar, but questionable whether to pay him into his 30s superstar money.

James Jones is damn lucky our defense held out in the Eagles and Steelers playoff games in 2010, or his touchdown drops would have sent him into the unemployment line that season where he got very little free agent interest. Like I've said many times, Packers fans overvalue their players. And we have some major flawed offenders of this in this very forum.

You and I are on the same side of this, Dakota. That's been happening a lot lately - Raji, Shields, etc. That's a little bit disturbing hahahaha.

It does seem like Jones has made more than his share of bad plays over the years; He also has made some spectacular ones. I think he will get a lot more than $3 million a year from somebody - not the Packers - there's a big difference between 3 and 8.

Bottom line for me is I feel more comfortable with Boykin as the third wide receiver than Jones.

Packers will NOT be selecting a player 21st overall that will be on the roster in three years.

Zero2Cool (2h) : We can say it. We don't play.
Mucky Tundra (3h) : But to say they are in is looking past the Saints
Mucky Tundra (3h) : That said, their odds are very favorable with a >99% chance of making the playoffs entering this week's games
Mucky Tundra (3h) : Packers are not in and have not clinched a playoff spot.
buckeyepackfan (4h) : Packers are in, they need to keep winning to improve their seed#.
Mucky Tundra (13h) : Getting help would have been nice, but helping ourselves should always be the plan
beast (13h) : Too bad Seahawks couldn't beat Vikings
bboystyle (13h) : We just need to win Monday night and were in
Mucky Tundra (16h) : Or ties, but let's be real here
Mucky Tundra (16h) : Other scenario was Falcons+Rams losses
Mucky Tundra (16h) : Needed a Falcons loss for a Seahawk loss to clinch

Martha Careful (21-Dec) : I think MLF want Love to look past the end half issues, and feel good about his play. Our coaches generally keep a very positive tone.
beast (21-Dec) : I think a great running game will do that for most QBs
packerfanoutwest (21-Dec) : Coach Matt LaFleur has said quarterback Jordan Love is playing the best football of his career.

beast (20-Dec) : As of tonight, 3 way tie for 2nd in Pick'em, that battle is interesting!
beast (20-Dec) : Lions vs Vikings could be the main last game as it could determine division winners or #1 vs #2 seed
Mucky Tundra (20-Dec) : Or if KC needs to win for the #1 seed
Mucky Tundra (20-Dec) : Right now it looks like the only prime worthy games are Det-Minny and KC-Denver (if Denver can clinch a wild card spot)
Mucky Tundra (20-Dec) : The entirety of week 18 being listed as flex is weird
Zero2Cool (19-Dec) : Matt LaFleur today says unequivocally "Ted Thompson had nothing to do with the drafting of Jordan Love."
Zero2Cool (19-Dec) : Apparently, the editing is what pieces comments together. That Ted thing ... fake news.
Zero2Cool (19-Dec) : LaFleur "opportunity that Ted Thompson thought was too good to pass up"
Zero2Cool (19-Dec) : Jordan Love pick was Ted Thompson's idea.

beast (18-Dec) : $100 million fully guaranteed Kirk Cousins gets benched for rookie
Mucky Tundra (18-Dec) : a lower case b
