What has he done for the team lately? Seems like he's spending more time on the sidelines.

Daniels is playing much better, but perhaps all the other defensive linemen are equally as bad as Raji. Losing Jolly really stings, at this point. Even though he was wearing down, at least he played with energy and intensity.

I really wish Datone Jones would step up and keep Raji off the field in most sub-packages.

Dline is as big a problem as safety in my opinion. We just don't have the horses to get it done. There's a reason Raji wasn't given a contract this last offseason, but instead of working his ass off - he seems to have taken the opposite approach and became a turd instead. The only contract I want to see him sign in GB is an incentive based contract. The Packers probably did him a disservice with the kind of defense we play. Raji has the talent to be a dominant defensive tackle, but in a 4-3 not as a space eater in a 3-4.

Casey Hampton was an awesome 3-4 NT, but he had the mental makeup to play the position - meaning humility and being a team player. Raji does not, and the Packers would be well served to just let him walk in free agency this season, in my opinion anyway.

The Packers are simply a worse team with Raji on the field. Ditto that for Pickett. Having those two big lard balls does NOT stop the run. We are better against both the run and the pass with a smaller rotation.

Next season, GET RID of both Raji and Pickett, please. Daniels should be the NT - a Jay Ratliff type player. Move Neal back to DE, use Worthy, use Datone Jones a lot, get Jolly in the rotation, and if we need bulk, keep Boyd around. With that, our D Line would rise to the level of average - about the best we can hope for in the short term, and good enough if we get a decent Safety and some LB improvement.

But GET RID OF RAJI!

To that end, it would be nice to get a true OLB not a transition player.

Perry and Neal are both 4-3 DE's being forced to play OLB. When are we ever going to learn this lesson? Wouldn't it be easier to just move back to a 4-3 and let Matthews line up all over the defense then to keep up this charade of playing a 3-4, because we really suck at it?

Much of the dline problems has been the ineffectiveness and missing time of Clay. When Clay is 100%, he normally gets blocked by the LT, and sometimes chipped by a RB or TE. Since he came back, defenses were blocking him quite often with just a TE. Perry and Neal have not demanded a double on the otherside so defenses have been matching up 4 on 3 or 4 on 2. When Matthews was getting the LT attention, it was 3 on 3 or 3 on 2.

The solution is to get rid of our lard asses, like my esteemed co-poster Texas points out. Those guys are being paid to eat up blockers not blocker.
