It's true about athletes and entertainers paying tax on income they make in whatever state or country they make it. Of course, that's still an issue in free agency because half the games are at home.
Doing away with Federal income tax would mean something (see my debt financing posts). However, on a state level the money would just have to be made up for elsewhere. While not having a state income tax would be good for athletes and entertainers, it wouldn't do much for regular normal people.
