I brought this topic up because many years ago Gilbert Brown was being courted by the Jaguars and one of the things they used to sway him to sign was the lack of income tax. Tax is paid out of your employers state location, unless you specify differently for your tax with holdings.

Than you are surely wrong. I don't believe that sales or a flat tax are the best options because they put most of the burden on the middle and lower classes. I also don't believe income tax is the best option nor do I think raising tax on the job providers is the best. I think a mix is the most fair.

What I do lobby for is no matter what form of tax we use, that what is taxed be at the absolute minimum needed for government.

It's true about athletes and entertainers paying tax on income they make in whatever state or country they make it. Of course, that's still an issue in free agency because half the games are at home.

Doing away with Federal income tax would mean something (see my debt financing posts). However, on a state level the money would just have to be made up for elsewhere. While not having a state income tax would be good for athletes and entertainers, it wouldn't do much for regular normal people.

They could use a "tally stick" method.

Wouldn't have to use actual tally sticks either. Just any type of officially sponsored bond or commodity for use in the payment of taxes, other than cash. Gold, silver, weed, water, bitcoin, Brazil monetized steel wool at one time. I've heard drug cartels are using Tide laundry detergent.
