Came across this after hearing something on the news about it.
http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/govbeat/wp/2013/12/18/wisconsins-walker-thinking-about-ending-income-tax/

I noticed a few states didn't have income tax prior to reading this and thinking it'd be cool for WI to follow suit. Now we might?

This could help lure free agents, right?

It's a nice thought in theory. We don't have a state income tax in Nevada. Just wait until it costs,(it's based on the MSRP.), you close to a $1000 to register your new car the first time. It also only goes down about 10% a year after that.

No matter what, the state is going to need a certain amount of revenue to operate on. Whether it is collected through Income tax, Sales tax or other means, it is still going to be collected.

I'm not real sure how Professional players are taxed?

Do they Have to pay taxes where they play or where they actually live?

Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)

They pay taxes in the city they play in, which is why nobody wants to play for the Toronto Raptors. Fricken socialism. LOL

When you abolish income tax, you give the lions share of the tax relief to the wealthy. I'm sure all your conservatives can figure out percentages.

If you want a more fair tax relief, it would be done in the property tax code because the middle class' property tax in most cases is greater than their state income tax liability.

Need more money for police/fire? Increase fine $$$ and fees for stuff like getting a printed copy of a police report, and increase property taxes a little. Education's a bit trickier, as you can't charge people to send their kids to school. All in all I think things work best with there being an income tax that helps fund various services, however I would like to see that rate lowered significantly in favor of more fees. More of a balance between civic duty through taxation and paying more for the community services you use more.

I don't know that this will make much impact in FA. Although I know it was a topic of discussion during the Nnamdi Asmouagh (sp? Lol) sweepstakes.
