Hyde is actually useful for something other than special teams.

Regardless, it was kinda stupid and over-reacting to cut him - and I don't need to say who is responsible for personnel decisions.

That seemingly stupid return as well as returns in general this season, the blocking has been fairly poor. Just the same, a lot of returners make something out of nothing. Kick returner is one position where very little training/learning is required, so if we could pick up somebody good during the season, it would help. I don't want Cobb to return kicks, and I have soured on the goodness of Ross. Like the title of the thread says, he needs a few "happy" returns to be worth keeping, as he has been non-existent in the passing game. What about Boykin? Has he ever been tried as a kick returner?

But hey, cheers for the contribution captain hindsight.

Gosh, "Uncle Teddy" must have some of you guys on the payroll hahaha. One little comment about him and it's like roaches out of the woodwork. Good Digging to find my comments from 3 months ago about Ross. Even then I wasn't wanting to see him cut - just to make up for some of his bad plays with some good ones - like he has more than done in Detroit.

I think what also helped Crosby is his track record kicking at Lambeau in December. It's not easy finding a guy who can kick in that consistently.
