Why not play the race card while we're at it?

So Weird the PILING ON in here.

I always liked Ross. Yeah, he got stupid on at least one return in the endzone, and yeah, he fumbled a couple of times, but I sawsome flash there - more than Hyde, even though Hyde is doing a good job, and a lot more than anybody else we've had back there in recent history other than Cobb.

Bottom line is fumbling and stupid decisions should be cured by coaching.

I'm glad they kept Crosby, but it would be easier to find an above average kicker these days than an above average return man.

And congrats to our staff for "curing" crosby of his poor field goal kicking.

This is simple, Crosby wasn't as bad as the fans seem to think. Yes Crosby had a slight slump but his numbers were down more because of MM and where the offense was stalling out at.

Crosby was asked to kick nine 50+ yarders, which was more than 25% of his kicks all year and last year he struggled outside the 50, which is what killed his numbers and got fans so down on him. But inside the 50 Crosby was pretty much his normal self, probably should of made one more inside of 50 to be on average inside the 50.

Ross on the other hand, has all the physical potential to be a great player, didn't seem to be able to take that and make big plays on offense. Every so often he'd make a play you expect all the WRs to make and then he would follow it with a mistake of equal size.

On ST is why Ross was kept, for his returning skills, and when kept fumbling the ball and the coaches felt like he could no longer be trusted they released him.

I didn't want to cut either (I don't like cutting potential) but I don't see these two as the same in their different hot seats. Crosby was doing his job, but mainly just struggling with the hardest part of it (the 50+ yards), where Ross was struggling every where.

Reality is that not everyone gets as a much time. Recall T.J. Rubley got exactly one chance to be the relief pitcher, pissed Holmgren off, and was gone.

This is one reason I'm always happy to see someone like Ross succeeding even if it isn't for the Packers and even if it is for a division rival. Because while I understand the reality that is the Animal Farm nature of life, part of me wishes it weren't so.

I am glad that somebody brought up how many 50+ yard kicks Crosby had last year. Not sure why we were sending him out there at times. You just knew he was going to miss and possibly damage his confidence even more. Glad he has turned it around this season.

I never wanted Ross to be cut. I always thought he was going to be a stud. I knew it would come back to bite the Packers in the ass. I knew Mason Crosby would have his best year ever. I knew...

Zero2Cool (18-Feb) : It should be halted now.
