Remember when the Packers actually had a good run defense? It seems like forever ago, but as recently as October, the Packers turned into a brick wall against the likes of Frank Gore, Reggie Bush and others. Those days are long gone now, and there are many reasons why the Packers run defense has gone [...]

Just watch them. They are winded after 3 plays. Yes, they are too fat, lazy, and out of shape. Raji is way more of a disappointment than Hawk. Hawk gives everything he has out there, just lacks the elite athleticism and power to make him All Pro material. Jolly gets the benefit of the doubt because he is just working his way back.

Jolly may be too fat because he looks like he wears out but Pickett has still been pretty good against the run overall.

Raji doesn't play hard enough to get tired. From the first snap of the game Raji is just going through the motions. I tried to watch him specifically on each play Thursday and he was ridiculously slow off the snap and was getting moved around too easily by single blocks. He looks like he gave up on this season after last years playoff game. He's basically just collecting a pay check and waiting for FA.

there is a difference between being big and strong and being fat.

our DL (Datone aside) is fat.

Maybe Boyd and Wilson can give us a little burn too.

To answer the question, YES they are FAT FAT FAT and still easily pushed around.

The reason our run defense was "good" before? Because when we had Aaron Rodgers playing, teams had to pass more - either playing catch up or just perceiving the need to pass/score more, hence less rushing attempts.

Yeah, it's probably time the Packers let Raji go. Mike Daniels, Datone Jones, et al. need to get more playing time. Also, it's usually not incredibly difficult to find a big run-stuffer defensive linemen in the 3-5th rounds of the draft. There were a couple available in that range this past season.

I was a big fan of Raji, but he has really disappointed me. Doesn't seem to have that true passion anymore. He can make plays that only an elite talent could make, but his overall average play brings down his average to just an average player. It's really too bad. If he does leave, however, the Packers will need to find some kind of replacement. At least he's been relatively available.

dfosterf (16-Apr) : that from Jaire
dfosterf (16-Apr) : My guess is the Packers floated the concept of a reworked contract via his agent and agent got a f'
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Yes, and that is why I think Rob worded it how he did. Rather than say "agent"
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Same laws apply. Agent must present such an offer to Jaire. Cannot accept or reject without presenting it
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : I'm thinking that is why Rob worded it how he did.
dfosterf (16-Apr) : The Packers can certainly still make the offer to the agent
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Laws of agency and definition of fiduciary responsibility
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Jaire is open to a reduced contract without Jaire's permission
dfosterf (16-Apr) : The agent would arguably violate the law if he were to tell the Packers

Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Demovksy says t was direct communication with someone familiar with Jaire’s line of thinking at that moment.
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Demovsky just replied to me a bit ago. Jaire hasn't said it.
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Of course, that depends on the definition of "we"
dfosterf (16-Apr) : We have been told that they haven't because he wouldn't accept it. I submit we don't know that
dfosterf (16-Apr) : What is the downside in making a calculated reduced offer to Jaire?
