If Flynn is signed, who do you want to see starting against the Giants?

Tolzien has proven to me that he is a capable backup. He'll probably show more improvement with a week with the 1st team.

The real question is Matt Flynn or Seneca Wallace as the reserve? My answer for that is Matt Flynn.

Seneca is HORRIBLE! He has zero pocket presence, and a noodle arm.

I was pleased with Scott Tolzien today - he was in no way perfect, but for a first go 'round with next to no practice and a new promotion from the practice squad, it was a decent enough day. I would like to see him play more. It's not that I dislike Matt Flynn, but even if they sign him Monday, he still has to get up to speed with this year's personnel and offense. So, no matter if they sign Flynn or recycle Seneca Wallace, I would like to see Tolzien get the start next week. Hopefully with a week's practice with whoever is left alive on the 1st team will help to make next week a better week for him and see his emergence as a decent backup.

IMO

What we saw today from Tolzee, looked a lot better than anything we ever saw from Harrell or Coleman

I think this guy has good upside, and given the current situation, is the best option we have.

Flynn's got something going on. He got almost no reps here in Seattle training camp because of that elbow. (Last offseason) and this season has been cut by 3 teams. His injury must be pretty bad to plague him for over a calander year.

Tolzien at least looked like a capable back up which is good. He obviously has a stronger arm than Flynn ever did but I'm not sure his play recognition and decision making are quite as good. Flynns arm looks so bad with whatever injury he has this year though that I don't have any faith in him playing QB on this team.

Also look at others on practice squad.

Others could include

Vince Young
Matt Scott in Jacksonville PS
Tyler Wilson in Oakland PS
Chandler Harnish in Indianapolis PS
Greg McElroy in Cincinnati PS
Ricky Stanzi
others that I've never heard of...

All things being equal, I'd take Flynn over Harrell.

If Flynn's arm really is toast, it's probably about the same as Harrell's. But Flynn isn't intimidated just by being on an NFL field.
