Steveis here....give it up, there are some on this forum who come here just to argue, they will never be wrong, no matter how obvious the play was.

They are better at coaching and better at being the GM(in their minds), than what the Packers currently have.

They know everything there is about football, and are never going to admit they are wrong.

Barclay's only option at the time, after he finished his assignment was to grab ahold of the defender and hold.

Barclay had done his job forcing the man back beyond Aaron, his back was turned to Aaron when he broke the pocket and started to scramble, the defender who was facing Aaron saw this and did his job by changing directions and pursuing. Barclay's momentum had him going the other way, his only option would have been to grab the guy and hold, but considering the fact that Aaron has been real successful in scrambling he let the guy go.

Bad break, when he made the tackle, but of course some will blame Barclay for this play 5 years from now, only remembering this one play and use it as a standard when talking about Barclay.

I'm sure if Barclay could have known in advance the results of the play, that he would have held his man and taken the 10yd penalty. But unlike some on here he doesn't know what is going to happen until it actually plays out.

I don't know about the majority of fans, but I definitely put the Rodgers injury on his shoulders alone. But it happened and we need to get past it now and rally behind Wallace and our team

To not extend plays would be giving up on many opportunities, which would mean giving up a lot of points. That's his game. Eight to nine times out of ten, he doesn't get hurt on that play. But injuries are going to happen at some point, and this was one of those times.

I don't fault Rodgers, necessarily. He is human, and these things happen.

I think Barclay is the weakest link on the frontline, that being said, only the coaching staff can say if it was his fault or Rodgers fault on that play. That was the onlt sack on Rodgers that day, yet Wallace was sacked 4 times. Who is to blame for those sacks? To me Wallace seems a bit more mobile, but he was
1. thrown into a MNF game
2. in Lambeau
3.against the frickin Bears

and what sucks the most to me besides Rodgers injury, is losing to the suckass Bears with a backup qb on a Monday night in Green Bay

He was waiting for something deep to develop from the 9 yard line. It all makes so much sense now.

However, it's almost certain that the Packers wouldn't score nearly as many points or win as many games if Rodgers played that way. For the most part, the Green Bay Packers wide receivers don't get great separation instantly. There would be a LOT more three and outs if Rodgers didn't extend plays. It's even more difficult in the red zone, because there's less space for the receivers to get often. How deep do you think he was trying to go at that field position, anyway? The 30th row of the stands?

Extending plays is Rodgers game, and that's not going to change any time soon. The results are usually fantastic and result in a lot of wins. One random accident isn't going to change that. The only way to ensure Rodgers never got hurt would be to never have him touched, sacked, tackled, etc., which is obviously impossible.

Football players sometimes get hurt playing football. Go figure.
