I am sure all agree, our defense costed us numerous games this year so with that Ted Thompson has plugged his players into Sanders schemes and it is not working. Where do we go from here???
I say bring in some upfront help (DL) and a DC that is aggressive in his play and see what happens.

I say bring in a new DC. A Monte Kiffin or a Jim Johnson.
Also, get some DT help, and a new RE (Orakpo 🙏 ).
We just need an agressive, good-blitzing DC. I just hope he lets our secondary coaches do what they do.

Ted Thompson is NOT our problem. He is PART of the solution to our problem.

Its hard to kill our defense with all the injuries we've had. But if our defensive scheme was so good, it should work with other players.

The reason I vote for Sanders to be gone is because he moved Hawk (or whoever) from his position to a new one. Then put someone else in his position.

I disapprove of that stuff. Especially with our OL. You don't try to muster up a position by weakened two others.

Hawk should have stayed. Bishop who practices and plays MLB should have started at MLB.

Colledge should have went to T sooner, not bring in Moll and we should have had Spitz/Sitton at G way sooner even if it meant sitting Colledge in favor of that.

Players are creatures of habit. You break their habit, you break them and make them think. Players must go on INSTINCTS, not thought. You think for a split second, you're two seconds behind.

Whatever happens this next year. I hope we don't shuffle players around like we did this year. I think that hurt us a lot more than the coaches are letting on.

I never thought much of Sanders' defense even when the players were healthy. Never seems to blitz enough, not enough pressure on the quarterback.

Not too sure who should replace him, but there has to be a defensive coordinator out there that can motivate Green Bay's defensive personnel and bring new and innovative defensive schemes into the fold.

Romeo Crennel was New England's defensive coordinator, and he's going to be available but given the job he did in Cleveland...maybe not.

Overall I think the D is pretty good. They had problems this year mostly related to the injuries. While it is PC to say injuries don't matter, when those injuries are spread like they were with GB this year it does make a difference.

First losing Jenkins was a huge hit. Almost like losing 1 1/2 players. But if it was just him the LBers and other Dlineman could cover to help. When you also take a LBer out, then there is less ability for them to cover for the missing Dlineman. Add a Safety and part of the season a CB, plus moving Woodson to Safety, and basically every section of the D was weakend making it almost impossible to cover.

Getting Jenkins and the rest of the D healthy would make a huge difference. I would like to see Sanders replaced, but even if he isn't, the addition of 1 more DE/DT would make the D a top D in the league.

If there is a 3 down DE, I say make the move and get him in, allowing Jenkins back inside where I think he is the best.
The world needs ditch diggers too Danny!!!

It's 100% TT's fault for not having any depth at any position other than WR. You can't keep pluggin in 7th round draft picks and expect them to contribute.
Ted Thompson needs to take the blame for miserable season. His horrible 2008 draft in which his first two picks were a QB and a WR was just terrible.

We didn't have that many injury and we should have had the depth make up for the few we had. Also our horrid special teams is another sign of terrible depth. Why the hell is Jarrett Bush still on a NFL roster?

beast (23-Jan) : I wonder why the Jets always hire defensive coaches to be head coach
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Still HC positions available out there. I wonder if Hafley pops up for one
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Trent Baalke is out as the Jaguars GM.
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Jeff Hafley would have been a better choice, fortunately they don't know that. Someone will figure that out next off season

dfosterf (22-Jan) : Glad to hear you are feeling a bit better.
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : I've been near death ill last several days, finally feel less dead and site issues.
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : It is a big deal. This host is having issues. It's frustrating.
Martha Careful (22-Jan) : just kidding...it was down
Martha Careful (22-Jan) : you were blocked yesterday, due to a a recalcitrant demeanor yesterday in the penalty box for a recalcitrant demeanor
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Was that site shutdown on your end or mine? No big deal, just curious
beast (21-Jan) : That way teams like Indiana and SMU don't make the conference championships by simply avoiding all the other good teams in their own confere
beast (21-Jan) : Also, with these "Super Conferences" instead of a single conference champion, have 4 teams make a Conference playoffs.
beast (21-Jan) : Also in college football, is a bye week a good or bad thing?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : The tournament format was fine. Seeding could use some work.
beast (21-Jan) : You can't assume Ohio State would of won the Michigan game...
beast (21-Jan) : Rankings were 1) Oregon 2) Georgia 3) Texas 4) Penn State 5) Notre Dame 6) Ohio State, none of the rest mattered
wpr (21-Jan) : Texas, ND and OSU would have been fighting for the final 2 slots.
wpr (21-Jan) : Oregon and Georgia were locks. Without the luxury of extra playoff berths, Ohios St would have been more focused on Michigan game.
wpr (21-Jan) : Zero, no. If there were only 4 teams Ohio State would have been one of them. Boise St and ASU would not have been selected.
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : So that was 7 vs 8, that means in BCS they never would made it?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : A great game. Give ND credit for coming back, although I am please with the outcome.
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : FG to make it academic
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : and there's the dagger
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ooooo 8 point game with 4 minutes to go!
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ooooooooohhhhhh he missed!
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Ooooo that completion makes things VERY interesting
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Game not over yet
beast (21-Jan) : Oh yeah, Georgia starting quarterback season ending elbow injury
beast (21-Jan) : Sadly something happened to Georgia... they should be playing in this game against Ohio State
beast (21-Jan) : I thought Ohio State and Texas were both better than Notre Dame & Penn State
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Notre Lame getting rolled
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : Ohio State just got punched in the gut. Lets see how they respond
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Notre Lame vs the Luckeyes, bleh
