The excuse is they played better than we did and we made more mistakes than they did. Its as simple as that. We didn't beat ourselves they beat us. The refs didn't cost us the game our play and play calling did.

On the bright side it was not all bad. Losing to this team the way we did is nothing to be ashamed of.

Just to clear things up, you think Colin Kaepernick is a better QB than Aaron Rodgers? Got it.

He is essentially saying, "what are you going to give me? OK, I'll beat you with that."

You may be tired of hearing about what a great QB Keapernick is through these last 14 games or so of NFL action, regular and post season, but you may want to get yourself ready for more. This kid is a buzz saw. As good as Aaron is... He simply cannot and is not doing what Kaepernick is as a QB. Period.

If I have to see one more game turning drop from Finley I'm gonna puke.

Christian Ponder could have thrown for 400+ with that OL against the Packers.

I call bullshit on your Christian Ponder...

The difference is our defense never challenged their receivers. Free releases all day. If you can't jam a receiver like Bolden on a regular basis, he's gonna get open everytime. When we actually did play aggressive man to man. We did stop them.

Playing the 49ers vs the way they played us definitely didn't help either. To much zone, worried about him running free.

I'm not gonna make excuses but I just can't say he's better than Rodgers. He's just so damn Consistent and always shows up to play even if the other half of the team doesn't.

Whatever. I'm not going to get into a pissing contest of who is better, Rodgers or Kaepernick. I'm as much a Packers fan as any. Lifelong. Stockholder since '98.

Point is, the simple threat of Kaepernick running affected the way we played D. Not the case with Rodgers. Both are very solid passers, with nearly equal weapons at the skill positions. Our pass blocking was about the same as SF's. Really. Watched the game twice. Both OLs in pass pro were virtually the same, allowing for both quick throws (2 sec) and deep throws (>3 sec).

Our OL was horrible in run blocking. Theirs was not. I felt their play calling on O was better than our own. I believe both of those areas were pretty deficient. Our line is not proficient as run blockers, and our coaching staff is not proficient in calling a good running game.

Defensively, our S play was so poor that we could cut both MD Jennings and McMillian and not miss a beat. Wow, did they suck.
