We had a new DC in 2024 and only one loss was double digits. @Eagles by 5, Vikings by 2, Lions by 10, @Lions by 3, @Vikings by 2, Bears by 2.
Jordan Love should have sat more games because he didn't fully recover.
Let's talk Eagles playoff game.
* Special teams gives up the ball and three plays and 28 yards later Packers are down by 7 barely two minutes into the game
* No Christian Watson
* Romeo Doubs misses most of 2nd half with concussion
* Lost Jayden Reed who torced Eagles week 1
* Lost Elgton Jenkins and Josh Myers
* Lost several defenders too.
And yet Packers hold Eagles to 22 points, their lowest point total of the post season and remember, 7 were basically spotted to them.
Point totals aside, the Packers were hanging toe to toe with the eventual NFL Champions.
Alright, those are excuses, but also let's be realistic here. We're not a shit team. We did win 11 games last year with a hobbled QB and a new defensive coordinator.
Let's look at the roster.
Offensively, we are sitting pretty damn good. Musgrave should be healthy and so should Marshawn Lloyd. We got much needed depth on the OL.
QB: Jordan Love, Malik Willis
RB: Josh Jacobs, Marshawn Lloyd, Chris Brooks, Emanuel Wilson
WR: Romeo Doubs, Jayden Reed, Mathew Golden, Dontayvion Wicks, Savion Williams, Mecole Hardman, Malik Heath, Christian Watson (PUP)
TE: Tucker Kraft, Luke Musgrave, Ben Sims
T: Rasheed Walker, Zach Tom, Jordan Morgan, Travis Glover, Kadeem Telfort
G: Aaron Banks, Anthony Belton, Sean Rhyan
C: Elgton Jenkins, Jacob Monk, Trey Hill
Defensively we are going to step up big in year two of this scheme.
DL: Rashan Gary, Lukas Van Ness, Karl Brooks, Kenny Clark, Devonte Wyatt, Brenton Cox Jr., Kingsley Enagbare, Colby Wooden, Arron Mosby
LB: Quay Walker, Edgerrin Cooper, Ty'Ron Hopper, Isaiah McDuffie, Kristian Welch
CB: Keisean Nixon, Nate Hobbs, Carrington Valentine, Kalen King
S: Javon Bullard, Xavier McKinney, Kitan Oladapo, Evan Williams
Special Teams are stable now with McManus kicking and hopefully we re-sign Dan Whelan.
LS: Matt Orzech
K: Brandon McManus
P: Exclusive Rights Free Agent: P Dan Whelan
All in all, I think we should feel pretty good about the upcoming 2025 season. You get better from within. And we will!
