The Jets have been sucking as a team for a long time now.

You're right. They totally suck. Oh, wait, let's look at the numbers.

1998: 12-4

1999: 8-8

2000: 9-7

2001: 10-6

2002: 9-7

2003: 6-10

2004: 10-6

2005: 4-12

2006: 10-6

2007: 4-12

2008: 9-6

Total: 91-84 (.517)

Packers' record over the same span: 102-73 (.583), for a total of 11 more victories in 11 seasons.

I'd say the Jets have been mediocre. Certainly not dreadful.

Who cares what some retarded a**holes in NY & NJ think?

The Jets have been sucking as a team for a long time now. Also, Brett Favre has an injured shoulder.

Interesting how the vultures on this site seem gleeful over the prospect of Brett Favre failing?

Why is that, you think? Seems to me some of you are the same as New Yorkers....

Does it make you think that Ted Thompson wasn't wrong it doing what he did?

I have news for you.

Ted Thompson was wrong about alot of things.

"longtimefan" wrote:

so again its okay to give Brett an excuse for an injuried shoulde,r but not Aaron Rodgers?

Ted did a lot of things wrong..

And I can personally tell you of at least one site, and about 5 posters HERE that gloat every time the Packers lost..

So whats your name on some other site?

I bet i know ;)

No worries. I don't post on any other site. Who do you think i am, anyway?

Don't gloat either. Just telling it like it is.

One question for you however. Why do you give Ted Thompson a pass on the awful defense and offensive line that he puts out there?

Smacks of homerism and GM worhip to me.

I think that Pennington is alot better than most people think/thought. You can see he's been injured alot, but the years he had been playing, the Jets have been pretty good.

Ofcourse Favre factored in as a great asset in those first games, but he didn't do a whole lot to help them in these last ones....

Pennington sucked.

He never would have won the New England or Tenessee games.

He was limp armed, and teams new it and didn't respect the deep ball.

He's just lucky this year that he's got a good running game and defense. They barely score any points, Miami.

I'll answer that.
No one is giving Ted Thompson a "pass". There have been injuries on both lines that meesed up this season. The backups haven't been good.
Now.......i KNOW your next response will be "TT messed up by not getting better backups". Well, that my friend, takes time. There are just so many moves you can make in a year, and he has been building the team as quickly as possible. I know that we as fans, expect instant results, but thats not possible or realistic.
Please tell me.........what GM has been able to build a powerhouse team in less time then you are willing to give TT?
I don't "love" or "hate" TT. I just believe that it's only FAIR to give a guy a realistic amount of time to do his job before judging him as awful, like you do.

Pennington sucked????
Lets see......his passer rating is 96.4
Brett Favre's is 84.
Pennington has thrown 4 less TD's then Favre, but also 12 less interceptions.
Yet according to you, Favre is the best thing since sliced bread.

Oh....and while i'm at it........you say Pennington has won only because of a good running game and solid defense.
Yet you rip Rodgers and put most of the blame for our losses on him instead of our defense, which has collapsed at the end of games all season.

Your hypocritical posts are laughable.

Well, I'd actually go as far as argue that as of week 12, Favre earned that Pro Bowl nod. Unfortunately, his play tapered off big time and hasn't done squat since. I think by Week 12, most of the ballots have already been cast.

Pennington's problem is he can't stay on the field. Like for example, we all know how awesome Kurt Warner is. He hasn't been healthy though for most of his career. Say what you want about Favre, but you know Favre will take every snap and be there next week.

Cheesey,

Brett Favre won games with the Packers in spite of bad defenses.

What, now your going to say that GM Sherman built good defenses?

Talk about hypocritical...

Did i say Sherman built good defenses??? Din't think so. And WHO inherited the bad defense? Yup........TT did. So do you think he has had time to totally revamp the D yet?
Oh.....and a couple years ago we were 4-12 with Favre behind center. Why were we that bad that year? Why didn't almighty Favre will us to at least 10-6 that year?
Yes......talk about hypocritical.

I love it when pure Favre fans think they know things....

Show me where I am giving him a pass?

I have been pissed at the D for last month and a half and have admitted it all land son Ted for not getting better back ups..

What I have compared to pure Brett fans is HOPE and faith it will turn around next year.
