With the parity that exists in the NFL, we have reached a point unlike any that I can remember...there seem to be very few teams with NO chance to win the Super Bowl. Some teams are probably less likely, like Detroit, but I would say there aren't many who are just so bad that they are just out of the argument:

Jacksonville has no QB and a bad defense
Buffalo has no O-Line and a bad defense
The Jets have no QB and no playmakers, and one RB with a history of injuries, and no pass rush
Cleveland has no QB, lacks playmakers and has a suspect defense
Oakland has nothing

Beyond these, I think every team in the league has at least a sliver of hope, and that makes for some great football. I am aching for September to arrive!

The best example I can think of is Lombardi taking over the Packers. The Jimmy Johnson Cowboys in the early 90s also went from worst to best in a real short time. I'm sure there were a lot of others along the way also.

Even with AP running wild I can not fathom the vickies being able to win 3 straight playoff games. (They would have to go in as a wild card team.) Defenses would focus on him and shut him down.

KC seems to still be in disarray.

Are the eagles any better than they were a year ago? If so are the good enough to be a .500 team? No.

AZ too is undergoing a remodeling project. They can't make it to the SB if they can't make it to the playoffs. I can not see them winning the West so they have to come in as a wild card at best. Ain't going to happen. SF or Seattle may stumble but not both. Every single other team that is in line for a WC slot falling behind AZ is not going to happen either.

there are 4 more for you that have no chance at all to make it to the SB.

I would add the Titans to this list though.. a team short at talent across the board.

Year in, year our, most of the conference sucked. So too over the last 30 years or so even with free agency...at least going into a given year.

What I am saying is that even though quick turnarounds are possible (and do happen) I just don't recall any year where there are so few really awful teams.

The Eagles are a huge question mark but they DO have a lot of talent on both sides of the ball and a coach whose system no one knows yet

KC's biggest problem was turning the ball over...they have a lot of talent and they have a competent coach.

AZ had a good defense last year, has improved their O-Line, RB and QB

While 3 of the 4 I would put in the really slim chance category, it isn't entirely out of the question, as all of them have at least SOMETHING going for them.

Even if they do they most likely won't get a bye therefore they will have to win 3 times, some or all of the games on the road during the playoffs. It just won't happen. They are not that good. Even Soda as I said AP will be contained by someone in those 3 games.
