Tight end. Historically, being one hasn’t exactly been glamourous. In decades past, unless your name was Kellen Winslow, Mike Ditka or Ozzie Newsome, people rarely noticed the position. Being a tight end on most teams meant staying home to take on defensive ends and linebackers while sealing the edge on running plays. It meant [...]

People at times get upset with me saying this, but (when healthy) Quarless seems to move a lot better than Finley does (meaning quicker/faster), which has always had me excited for Quarless and then his blocking is pretty good as well though not great.

That being said, Finley has a natural feel for all the small parts of the passing game such as walling off defenders, when he realize they're there and tracking the ball with his eyes very well (though he sometimes takes his eyes off the ball too soon, before the catch).

Quarless doesn't have that natural feel to help him nearly as much, and at times has SERIOUSLY had trouble tracking the ball (for what ever reason) at times, like the ST fake kick to Matt Flynn throw to Qaurless, he seems like an out fielder blinded by the sun looking for the ball.

It just feels like the further they move Quarless away from the center the worse he is.... I think they could use him a lot like they use Cobb... but you know 6'5" 250 pounds and can block... and he does have the power burst for it and have used him on screens and stuff before.

It doesn't seem like very long ago, I was defending and touting Quarless, and almost everybody else was saying they should give up on him, etc. Now suddenly, he is coming back from injury, and he's the greatest thing since sliced butter. I hope so - I've always been a believer in him, but as hopeful as I am, I'm not 100% sure of his quality, work ethic, etc. - maybe 97% sure hahahaha.

From what I heard at OTAs, it seems like this guy has only improved in the area of moving in the open field / ball location. If that is the case, then we have a great competition at TE this year.

For the first time since 2010, I am genuinely ecstatic for training camp competitions across the board.

With what I expect will be a greater emphasis on running the ball, I would not be surprised if he takes over the starting job by game 4. I expect Finley to have a big year...being a contract year and all, but as good as he is, Quarless has a more versatile skill set and I think they will want to use more of it going forward.

Quarless dropps Jared Allen like a pole axed steer  and goes for a 22 yard pass.

On the same play.

Martha Careful (3h) : apparently he did not participate in practice or play on the east west shrine game nor the NFL combine. The kid was a mediocre spoiled brat
Mucky Tundra (3h) : Yeah that one that was a super wounded duck that Sanders supporters are highlighting to prove a point
