Report: Packers, Sam Shields talking contract

Cornerback Sam Shields hasn't signed the second-round restricted free agent tender the Packers offered him this offseason and has stayed away from the team this offseason as a result. The deadline has passed for Shields to sign with another team, but he'd like to land a long-term deal to stay in Green Bay. Rob Demovsky

Business as usual. They will get this done. I'm sure of it. Ted values great CBs. Shields is young, and incredibly talented and experienced.

Ted will get a deal on this contract. Much like Aaron's contract, which was a blockbuster at the time it was signed, later turned out to be a pretty good value for Ted. That's the cool thing about long term contracts.
