How would you guys feel about a six year, $34 million deal, similar to the one Buffalo NT Kyle Williams signed a couple years ago?

Raji has a lot of untapped potential and shows it once in a while, but really he has been running hot and cold the last couple of years. For a short while there teams could NOT block him one on one.

Lately he's hot and cold and sometimes they can... and sometimes they can't.

I know part of it is scheme as they have asked him to play more two gap in the 3-4 with means more run stuffing like a NT is suppose to do and less rushing up the field. But I think it's other stuff as well.

Sometimes I wonder if it might be better to have Pickett as the NT, the run clogging / stopping is PERFECT for him (when not pass rushing). Nether Raji nor Pickett are a good nor great fit at 3-4 DE. And Raji can still do his pass rush thing in the nickel and dime packages.

Agreed, let Pickett stuff the run on likely running downs, Raji can rush the passer.

Seems like Raji's either getting worn down from over use or he's being played out of position. Dude doesn't complain though. I love BJ.

In college he was a rush out the field type (out of a 3-4 ) but he was playing a lot of 3-4 DE (they had another guy like Pickett who's best spot was NT and played him there and Raji at 3-4 DE). Problem is the NFL has a lot longer guys which hurts Raji and makes it a lot harder for him to play 3-4 DE in the pros.

But they're asking him to run clog a lot more which is fine and I don't hold that against him (other than the times he gets totally blown up like in the 49ers play off game) but he hasn't been the same in the 2-4 nickel ether. Even when getting single teams. He just hasn't shown the same consistent burst he used to in that... he still has it, but he hasn't been coming out lately.

Though I did hear he has been battling with some ankle injuries so maybe that's it.

I love when players say they want to stay in Green Bay. At least Raji said it, unlike Greg Jennings. You could just tell that he was ready to leave, even when he was a Packer. When he was asked the question, he just said something along the lines of "it'll work itself out", "we'll see what happens". Never once did I hear him say he wanted to stay a Packer. I could be wrong though.
