--So perhaps Jones, 6-3 7/8 and 283 pounds, can be a taller version of the 6-2 Jenkins, who flourished both as an end in the Packers’ base 3-4 defense and as an inside rusher in the nickel and dime.

“He’s taller than Cullen, but that was one of Cullen’s strengths — his ability to move around and play different spots,” Packers defensive coordinator Dom Capers said shortly after the Packers picked Jones. “These guys that have the size, they can play at times like a big linebacker and that type of thing.”--

I check the site pretty much everyday and I don't recall that at all. I am assuming by "they" you are talking about people on the site here, because why else would you bring it up here?

The Packers draft for their scheme, which happens to be 3 - 4. This Datone Jones guy fills the DEFENSIVE END position in the 3 - 4. I doubt you'll see him in the DEFENSIVE TACKLE (as you said) position as much.

I hope you can bump some threads where people are bitching about getting 4 - 3 players instead of 3 - 4. Nick Perry was a 4 - 3 DE and they drafted him with the intent on making him a 3 - 4 OLB. That is drafting for 3 - 4. They had a plan.

Really like this pick. I was initially worried reading over mock drafts about the talent at DL at #26 until I saw this guy. Was worried about who would be available until the Colts drafted Bjoern Werner. At that point I knew we'd either get Jones or Sylvester Williams. I'm liking the pass rush potential going into next year with this guy. I'm loving his ability to play the run. Hopefully it'll mean less of the 2-DL stuff.

All in all, I'm really excited and confident about the rest of the draft now (even if the Cowgirls grabbed Frederick)

Well after a quick at their schedule from 2011 they did play then but Long wasn't on the team at that point. Would have been neat to see some video footage of the two squaring off in college.

dfosterf (25-Jun) : of the folks that run this team. I do not recall Mark Murphy being subject to our vote.
dfosterf (25-Jun) : Ed Policy yay or nay is on the pre-approved ballot that we always approve because we are uninformed and lazy, along with all the rest
dfosterf (25-Jun) : Weird question. Very esoteric. For stockholders. Also lengthy. Sorry. Offseason.
Zero2Cool (25-Jun) : Maybe wicked wind chill made it worse?
Mucky Tundra (25-Jun) : And then he signs with Cleveland in the offseason
Mucky Tundra (25-Jun) : @SharpFootball WR Diontae Johnson just admitted he refused to enter a game in 41° weather last year in Baltimore because he felt “ice cold”
