Brett Favre spent years as the most popular man in Green Bay. But he says he's not sure how Packers fans view him now, six years after he left the Packers and three years after he finished his career with the rival Vikings. However, he's optimistic that he'll eventually be welcomed back for the kind

id welcome him back personally, ive always loved the guy and always will, it was upsetting to see him in another jersey but thats the reality of the nfl and all major sports , its a business !!

I'm sure some would boo but if he walked onto Lambeau field, I'm sure all you could hear are cheers. His dick-texting Viqueens will-he-will-he-not drama aside, can't ignore the positives.

Why go to a Brett Favre event if you're going to boo? That there would say more about the person booing, than the person being booed. I think Brett realizes the damage he caused and basically doesn't want to "face the music" of his actions with the Packers fans. I think the Packers winning the Super Bowl in 2010 season helped mitigate a lot of ill feelings towards Brett. It did for me anyhow, although I fully understood why he chose the Vikings since they were the only team that was a QB away from being a Super Bowl contender. Couple that with the chance to show the Packers he still has it, even though no one said he didn't, lol. This article also illustrates what I have been saying (and others too) for years. The Packers rushed Brett into making a decision, (Ted Thompson and Mike McCarthy have stated this) because they were certain after the season he had in '07 he'd be returning. They wanted the "decision" out of the way and to move forward. As Brett said in the article, he was pushed for an answer too soon and would have rather been pushed for an answer in July. I think Brett also understands why that wasn't the best choice for the Packers. Waiting to July to determine their 2008 starting quarterback. If it was Aaron Rodgers they needed to get him prepared more for the role.
